As mentioned, I wanted to purchase the NDSL. In 2 months time I'll be buying it.
Is it a good decision to buy it now or wait for NDSi to release ?
In terms of pricing, gaming experience & functions.

- Will the NDSi be selling @ high price (Above RM1000) with packages from local sellers ?
- Functions like the camera & music playback, worth it for the price ?
- Gaming experience, NDSL will be left far behind from the new design & features of NDSi ?
- Games released in the market currently.

Can buy now or I should wait for the NDSi ?

P/S: I'm not very familiar with gaming consoles, so need some advise smile.gif

The only problem with NDSi is that its region locked. Buing a japanese set would only make it japanese. The software is also region locked. So no japanese games in a US console.

We can't say about music playback, and camera you could be better off using some other device.

Can't say about gaming experience too. No innovative designs has been made yet. Games currently released can be played in NDSi consoles irrespective of region.

A simple point, if you've wanted to a play DS games from the moment it came, it is still wise to buy a NDSL. But if not, you can still wait.

It's up to you, really. Do you like the extra stuff or would just be content with what ndsl have. I didn't wait to get mine, lol Couldn't wait until next year just for the dsi. If you can wait, then I suggest waiting.. but if you can't, you might want to buy dsl now then when the dsi is out, sell your ndsl lol

I think you're mistaken there. Out of region DSi can still play any and all DS games as usual. The only region lock in place is for the DSi apps that you buy and download from its online DSi apps store.

Nub! been a while haven't seen ya! hehe. DS games from all regions are playable in the new NDSi, but the software made for the DSi is region lock. Thanks for clarifying! biggrin.gif

I bought my DSi last month in HK (around RM670 for your reference).

I don't have DSL before so can't compare for you but let's just say that you won't use much of the camera & music function outside of games that might require it in future. My phone can do a better job.

Also, the menu is in Japanese and I don't think there will be a US version anytime soon. Since you are not familiar with gaming consoles, I wouldn't recommend it to you unless you know Japanese.

DSi can play games from any region, only software downloaded from the online store (DS Ware) are region locked. I'm now playing US version of World Ends With You on it.

wow, RM670 is quite cheap for a dsi..considering that it's just recently out.

Local shop markups notwithstanding, rm670 IS cheap, considering it's being retailed for 18000 yen in japan, which, by the current exchange rate, converts into almost RM700.

Hey kyo. There just hasn't been any particularly good titles for the wii lately, thus the apathy, inactivity.

I think, if you have a lot money to buy original games for a few months before its modded, then u buy, cause NDSi cannot support R4, M3, and DSVision.

Now now PM. Calm down first. Those carts can also be used for Moonshell.

but the legal way is of course DS Vision.

Funny how PS3 is still not modded. tongue.gif
