If you can get Australia unlock unit at less than 1.8k for 16gb, then its worth the effort given the out lay is the same with no commitment. Otherwise just take 12 month plan. How often you change your mobile carrier anyway.... companies typically get special corporate rates and they may not rival maxis' iPhone packages and implying that they are not financially sensible.
