Hi.
For my graphic card, GeForce 6800 GS.
Using 178.24 version. Planning to use the old 175.16 version.
Some games cannot run on 178.24.
Do I need to uninstall the new one?

Good pratices involves uninstalling the driver, then deleting all files and registry entries with software like Driver Cleaner, then install the version you want.

yes,it is better to uninstall the driver, no matter old or new when a new driver is to be installed.this will avoid conflicts

How about when you run the installer (".EXE"), normally they'll ask you to update drivers or uninstall drivers. PS: This applies to my nVidia drivers.

I tried using Driver Cleaner before in Safemode and it screwed my PC altogether. Blue screen and then the whole PC kaput. Dont know whether its Driver Cleaner or not but after that incident, stop using it already. To install new driver, I just install it and so far so good.

Next time, better have a backup first before doing any modification, specially when you deal with Driver or Registry. If any incident happen, you are still safe.
