Hi i need some help here, im having problem with my car aircond.. on below im showing you about what's wrong..
Part       Morning    Afternoon    Night
  A            100%        100%      100%
  B            100%        100%      100%
  C            70%           10%        70%
  D            70%           10%        70%
The percentage above which is showing the cool air coming out from the parts.. which means the C, D part isn't working properly in the afternoon which makes me annoying and sweat badly all the journey.. as i have already service my aircond last 3 months and the technician can't help me to solve it and just ask me to refill the gas and use it for months.. i went back to him today and he told me the same thing asking me for refill the gas.. he ask me to leave the car for a day and they gonna fix it but have to cost RM700+.. i just want to know what's the problem and need to fix it.. and mostly ppl will ask me to refill but not to check it properly.. anyone know how do i fix this thing up? roughly how much should it cost?

Hi,

Looking at your matter, most probably there is leakage in your a/c system.

It's good to get a check-up on your car in order to understand your issue better.

my wira 1.3 air cond is not cold after 4months . Refilled air cond gas 4months ago.

the staff told me compressor not working fine.. need high RPM only can get cooler ... and the gas totally leaked after 4months....

whats the main items spoilt ? coiling coil , compressor , host or valve ? Thanks a lot !

Looking at your statements, most probably there is leakage on your a/c system as a/c gas could be last longer than that!

Now can't advise you on where the leakage is as no further explanation & it's good to check your system on the spot.

Need help from A/C sifus here,

My 10 year old Satria 1.3 (Fuel injection) is having a problem when I accelerate too fast with the A/C turned on, my engine will give out some weird noise like some kind of a gears grinding or something.

When I turned off my aircond, this problem does not occur.

Is this related to my problematic throttle body (TB)? If i throttled too much with A/C load, the weird sound will start to happen.

Please help. Thanks! smile.gif
*
Can't advise directly here due to insufficient info. The noise may come from few car parts.

Try to park your car, open your bonnet and accelerate without A/C, then accelerate with A/C, listen carefully where the sound is from.

See if the sound is from your TB or... (may look for mechanics for consultation if hard to identify)

Thanks. Finally found out the root of the problem. It's actually caused by my very very old aircond belting. After taken out, the belting looks very "wear out". After replaced with a new one (cost just RM12), the problem was solved!

Phew! I thought it was something else that could put a hole in my wallet hehehe!  sweat.gif

Nevertheless, thanks for the help!  smile.gif

i am driving a 5 years old viva and having a terrible problem now. the air cond working fine, but out of sudden it will come a bad smell like those petrol black smoke smell. but when i turn off the a/c, the smell will gone, and turn it back out of sudden it will come back. I had visited few garage and none of them know whats wrong. Presure checked, its working good. Pls advise.
*
hmm.gif Can't give you a direct answer as the smell is caused by few reasons.

There are few DIY approaches you can try:

1. Check if the smell still exists if your air-cond is taking the air externally or internally of the car.

2. Taking out the carpets and check if there is any smelly dirt on your carpet or in your car.

3. Have you done any air-cond service within the recent 2 years?

Hopefully these would bring you nearer to the solution.

Service on solving air-cond gas leakage is available.

The price will be varied due to the leakage place. It's good if you'd let us know the place for our easy quotation.

Hi .. I have an old aircond compressor for nissan latio. Do you guys buy back for refurbishment ? I want to sell it. It's not working, but I heard normally workshop can buy back refurbish then get it working again . thanks.
*
Some shops do that but depends how serious it can be refurbished.
And the price you'd get back could possibly be very low or nothing.

We hardly do refurbishment on the spoiled a/c elements. Possibly the others could help you out this smile.gif

Went to my workshop to check as my aircond air was not cold.
Found that one of the pipe leaking. Furthermore, my mechanic say my compresser could be spoil. Cooling coil also show sign of leaking. But he can only confirm the compressor n coil after taking out the parts. He quoted me changing the whole thing (compressor, coil, new pipes, valve, dryer, labour) could reach to near 2k!

Can you quote the parts above for myvi 1.3 se? My car only 3 years but such major problem already occurred....sigh
*
Possibly around that~ And it's advisable to conduct a/c service within 2 years in order to take good care of the a/c parts.
You may look for other workshop to have a 2nd reference on your a/c problem & cost.

Pm you about the related quotation.

i need this:
Hmm, if got bad smell everytime you turn on your A/C, most probably is cooling coil problem. Dirty coil will causes those kind of smell or sometimes some insects die inside your cooling coil unit. Basic A/C service will solve your problem.

pm me details.
btw for iswara sedan.
pm me loc as well with best price bro. seriously will come and do today or tomorow...
*
As you mentioned, the smelly issue might be caused by dirty coil. Yet, other reasons (e.g. bad smell from engine flows into your internal car due to gaps/holes, dirt under your car floor mat etc.) would bring up such problem too. Basic a/c service could solve such problem (e.g. clean the coil/cover the gap or holes...), yet it's good to conduct a check-up on your car to reconfirm the cause before any services conducted.

Pm u the regarding prices and look forward to meet you soon biggrin.gif

Bro, i think my compressor is failing me after I spend 900 bucks to change leaked cooling coil for my myvi. If really compressor died, what should I do? Buy a new one? or just find  a chopped? Budget constrain also.
*
Mind sharing your air-cond problem and your previous service experience?

If your compressor problem is not serious, it can be still repair and the cost will be less than changing a new or reconditioned one.

For the worst situation i.e. your compressor died, you can opt for reconditioned one due to budget constraint.

Find the problem, get the remedy!

Besides those reasons mentioned by K-Max, you'd also need to concern about your compressor too.

Btw, a/c service is advised to be done for 1-2 years.

Yeah, the fan is directing the air into the engine area to distribute the heat away.

As shown by K-Max in the graph, pipe connecting in & out from the receiver drier should be warm.

Sometimes a recond compressor may not perform as good as the original, which makes some difference on the coldness.

Yet, since you mentioned the car air-cond is cold whenever the car is moving but less cold when idling, most probably it relates to the heat distribution. You'd check out if the a/c fan is working well. Or the recond compressor might contribute to your issue too.

Hi k-mex,

Im driving 2002 1.5 injection proton wira.
Since i bought this car, NEVER i had any problem with its air cond system. Hence, never service also.
So im thinking of  changing just the cabin air filter, cause it probably is dirty now since never change it.
Can i do just that without going to service the air cond, meaning check the drier, compressor, gas etc since there is no any problem.
Im afraid if i im doing that some workshop might tipu me saying to change that n this. And after changing that n this, more problem will occur pulak. So hard to find trustworthy person nowadays...

So, can i just change the cabin air filter?

Thanx in advance.
*
Proton wira doesn't have space for cabin filter..
