I'm installing an ahem game on vista home premium and i got this error code "the installation package could not be open. contact the application vendor to verify this is a valid windows installer package".

This file works perfectlly on my friend's windows XP before i tried it so i think its my vista problem. I've google this error code and found that many vista user cant install .msi file which is the one I'm installing.

Any Vista expert can help me solve this? TQ

Judging from the screenshot, it's definitely pirated with a CD-Key.txt file in it. In other hand, also judging from the screenshot, looks like the Microsoft Installer maybe corrupted. Try the solution on this MS KB page:
CODE
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175/en-us

yes i double click it but a black pops up for less than a second then closed. I'd installed the latest version Windows6.0-KB942288-v2-x86 also.

It *should* work with Vista and even Windows7. It's part of Windows itself.
