Hey all, got any recommendation on where to service lens besides Sony Center?

I need to service my KM 28-75 f2.8, I think aperture blade got some oil. Only sharp at f7.1 and above as compared to a friends KM. I got another KM 28-75 f2.8 coming from US (crazy already), might wanna sell off either one of once I got both in my hands.

Try Cheah Camera Service in Mutiara Complex, Jalan Ipoh. Service quite good.

Try looking for Albert Cheah of Cheah Cameras IINM. Next to Digicolor in Mutiara Complex, Jalan Ipoh. Heard he's great with older lenses.

For example. when we are shooting for the below:
......... ___________
people|.................|people
people|.................|people
people|.................|people
people|.................|people
.........|_________|people

........ ..Cameraman

Imagine if everyone is seated on a long table and you are at the 'cameraman' position. What setting/mode/technique that i should use to get everybody in focus? I am currently having this problem where i couldn't get everyone in focus...but probably only managed to get the first 2 rows
*
I normally push aperture to f11 or above for such situation and focus the center person one either side.

......... ___________
people|.................|people
people|.................|people
people|.................|people <-- focus on either left or right
people|.................|people
.........|_________|people

So the front and back people get the same sharpness, if focus on the front.. the back person lose most of the sharpness there. It's just my way of shooting, might not be the right way.

Send to Sony Service Center at MidValley if still got warranty. Or you can send to J-One at Amcorp Mall for service, cost about RM 30+ i think.

Last minute make up my mind to take the bomb. So ended up bought D90 + Nikon 18-200mm. Burst budget. Guess I have to bite the bullet  sweat.gif

Good camera, I like the focused AF point that move automatically to the other closest focus point, the intelligence is there. Enjoy it, it's a good camera.

man... I love with how nikon marks each of their lenses (gold plated xD) looks cool to me  smile.gif

since sony / minolta one can fade off if scratched (just painted only)  cry.gif

I do think it looks cool too. Tamron also have that gold plate mark.

i starting to think that i need a CPL la.. currently only have 1870 and 55200.. should i get the 55mm CPL or invest on a bigger size and get a step up ring??

(same question applies for ND Grad filter)

btw, what brand is good ya?? hoya? kenko? B+W?
*
An opinion on the CPL for 55mm... I would not recommend in buying that unless you really need it. The focus hunting is bad when you use CPL using the Kit Lens, especially on low lighting area such as in door... it's really frustrating. However on the 62mm SAL18250, it works like a charm.
