LCS-SC5 Alpha DSLR bag.. got for RM160 at Sony Style Times Square.. love the quality, but seems can fit enough for my a300 + kitlens + F42.. it does come with a rain cover..

Need some opinion.. which one is better for potraits & macro pics?

Sigma 24-70 F2.8 DG Macro OR SAL 20mm F2.8
*
Probably the Sigma 24-70 will give you better edge as a portrait lens, compared to the SAL20F2.8...

what about new? the price i quoted is from sony style pavillion

I don't think this lens is worth getting at the new lens' price, since quite frequent I can see fellow alpha users sell off this lens 2nd hand at RM500 or less... sweat.gif

QUOTE(craziqbal @ Dec 26 2008, 05:53 PM)
you should read the whole thread before asking this question, coz if I'm not mistaken, two people have already asked this question. but, I'll answer ur question. the diff between a200 and a300 is a300 has liveview, and a slightly smaller optical viewfinder. the diff between a300 and a350 is an extra 2 megapixels, other features are exactly the same.
*
craziqbal, Its an additional 4 megapixels, not 2... tongue.gif

Anyway, to ember, who asked this question:

so is the 4 megapixels difference worth RM500? I don't know... it depends on what you do with the photo actually. If you just want to shoot for hobby and do not require very fine details, then the A300 will do fine. If you do need a lot of details (like heavy cropping, or very detailed landscapes), then the A350 is for you.

QUOTE(ieR @ Dec 27 2008, 11:53 PM)
i have a question, not sure in correct thread or not, if wrong, minta maaf.

the tele lens kit comes with A200(SAL75300) and A300(SAL55200), i know the difference is one is 200mm one is 300mm but other then that, i need feedback about the usability of it, coz this is a factor for me to buy iether A200 or A300... my poison shield is down, come poison me...
*
the SAL55200 is better in terms of image quality compared to the SAL75300. That much I can tell you. Besides, it is smaller and more compact that the SAL75300. wink.gif So the question is, do you want longer reach (at the expense of image quality) or better image quality (at the expense of reach). I would go with the latter, if the choice was mine to make. smile.gif

ieR, another option for you is to buy the A300 single lens kit and scout around for a 2nd hand SAL75300.... brows.gif

ieR, general consensus is that the SAL55200 is really worth it, compared to the SAL75300. Let me see.. the last time I remembered, the SAL55200 2nd hand price is around RM550, while the SAL75300 2nd hand price is RM450... so I think you can deduce from the 2nd hand value, which one of these 2 lenses are more sought after.... thumbup.gif

Nice one! thumbup.gif I did the same as well. Only thing is that I bought a different container than what you got. I bought the type of rubber seal along the edges of the container so as to prevent as much moisture from entering the container as possible. This helps to make the "thirsty hippo" clone (I got it from Giant @ RM3.90 for three!) lasts longer too! rclxms.gif

Can anybody provide me a guide?

I have been looking for A200 and the most reasonable price i can get is RM1499 (single len) with 4GB card, tripod and bag.

But some of the shop offer RM1550 and they told me those below RM1500 is consider AP (not Sony Malaysia warranty), is that true?
*
Nonsense! All the new A200 sets sold in Malaysia are authentic Sony Malaysia set, as far as I know. You can always check the package if they have the Sony Malaysia warranty card included or not. I think it is just marketing gimmick to tell you that those are AP set. There are no known shops in Malaysia selling so called AP sets of Sony Alpha cameras because the imported AP set would be more expensive than the Sony Malaysia set! shocking.gif

after more than 2 months reviewing every aspect of dslr, my choice went to sony a300x. the other candidates were
1. Pentax K200D
2. Canon 1000D
3. Sony A200

but then a300 won my heart tongue.gif
