First time external flash user so I put everything in Auto mode...  blush.gif  tried 1/1 and it was too bright... guess I need to experiment a bit. Or was it bacause I used alkaline batteries ah? I got few new alkaline batteries... wouldn't want to waste them so I used these instead.

Btw, there is a piece of plastic which can be pulled out. According to the manual it is use to increase the width of the flash... in what situation should I use it?
*
the wide diffuser is used when u are using 17mm of focal length which mean u need to shoot a wide picture (and it will be applied for direct blast only)..for bouncing no need to pull out the diffuser. also, like achew said, use a bounce card to fill ur subject with a little amount of light so that the subject will have a balance lighting.

using alkaline batteries is ok, but on recommendation, buy Ni-MH rechargeable batteries to prevent leakage in ur flash.

ok so can i assume bounce card would giv u brighter result as compared to ceilling/diffuser?
*
when using the bounce card, u still need to bouce to the ceilling..

bounce to the ceilling to get more light source around the subject

add the bounce card to fill the darker part lite below the nose, eyes and tudung (forehead)

is it means even with ceiling we must using bounce card???
thanks for sharing
*
not necessarily need the bounce card, depend on the photo itself, if got too many darker area, bounce a bit to the face or the subject..this method also can be used in outdoor photorgraphy, to kill harsh shadow at the face causing by the sun light.

what's the street price for tammy 1750 ya??

aiya, i went to putrajaya with my friends today.. my night pics got lots of flare la.. is it because of the cheapo UV filter?? if buy those expensive UV filter, can get rid of the flare ka?? or better shoot without any UV filter??
*
the price of this lens seems higher than before, i guess around rm1.4k

yup, mainly because of the filter..lens itself also can cause a flare..wat filter u have?buy a great filter can reduce the flare but IMO not using filter at nite and shoot light more better..me using hoya filter also got flare.. blush.gif

Huh... leakage?? Damn, this really scares me...  shocking.gif I got 4 eneloop but those are for my 360's controller.  blush.gif  Guess I'll have to buy a new set of batteries then. Thanks for your informative reply and I do made myself a bounce card using hard paper. Still the result not what I wanted. Btw, there is a cover which you can use to soften the flash light. What is the name already? Is there any made for Sony's flash?
*
it is stofen.

is the large beercan enough for motorsport events? im satisfied with what the rock-bottom SAL75300 can offer at telephoto ranges, just that in some cases, its shifty AF can be troublesome >.<

glad to see luminous landscape reviewing the A900s. Love them for their articles thumbup.gif

Bro one more i got offer for 70 mm - 210 mm f3.5 - f4.5...

is it good from Beercan? Because beercan is only f4... confuse..
*
for sure beercan is better..F4 from 70mm to 210mm while itys brother oni F3.5 at 70mm and will get to f4.5 at 210mm..

beercan built like tank, internal zoom and external focusing..

u have baby beercan rite, so u can compare ur constant F4 with ur non constant kitlens, which one better?
