QUOTE(signither @ Dec 17 2008, 06:05 PM) no need to worry bout shutter count la.. just keep on shooting.. and then, when the time comes, just change the shutter la.. now THAT is a good comment! better to spend hundreds to replace the shutter than spend thousands on a dslr but always missing great moments because u wanna "save" the shutter count |

Actually i think you can, since there is no way to check the shutter count and the warranty was not measured against shutter count but against date of purchase....

QUOTE Let me enlighten you with engineering talk You can't check it doesn't mean they can't True, but again, my point is that the warranty is against the age of the camera since purchased, not how many actuations of the shutter mechanism. My bet will be that the amount of shutter mechanism failure before the end of the warranty period will be very much small.... albnok: QUOTE I can imagine some collectors inviting friends over to their house. "Eh come come see my dry box. Haaa open it. See the 1Ds MkIII inside? Eh go check the shutter count." QUOTE(Monster Hunter G @ Dec 18 2008, 02:01 PM) Yes, they should stock it since it is a rather common item nowadays. Sony Style I think will retail it at the normal Sony specified retail price (I think it is RM299 or something like that), but you can get the same thing outside for around RM260 or less. Try Tarita, Boeing and all those regular photography shops to get cheaper price (depending on your bargaining capability lah, of course. __________________________________________________________________ MechaHerc: I got the Advance Images Photography magazine issue #40 already!!!!!! yeahoooo...!!!!!!!!! |

QUOTE(heavenhell90 @ Dec 23 2008, 01:28 AM) heavenhell90, The SAL1118 you probably can get for brand new at RM20xx and the Sigma 10-20 last I heard was around RM17xx.Signither, I got no idea what's the current street price for this lens. I would guess around the region of RM15xx to RM17xx (wild guess). Alternatively, you may want to consider waiting for the HSM version which was announced recently, but don't know when will it be available. However, no one knows about the price of this new version, as well as its performance. But I am using a Sigma lens with HSM as well at the moment and one thing I can tell you is that it is a heavy battery consumer! Be prepared to get extra battery for your camera if you want the HSM version... |

So Soony, when are you going to buy this lens and do a review for us? wouldn't you guys consider tamron's new ultra wide angle lens? the aperture is nicer .. F3.5-f4.5 *kysham runs away!* |
