Oh.........
tech event composition?
won't bother too much as long as got mugshot, one shot of the actual launch, and one shot of other happenings and a model shot, i'm fine

other events yea, it does take up some of your time if you use M, but if you are used to it, why not

i didn't say tech event.
for me it's not whether USED TO IT. for me, it's whatever the fastest.
i love Av mode simply because my shots are mostly based on aperture so I'll let the came decide the shutter.

Use according to situation lar...
For me:
Wedding dinner reception - M mode as the lighting seldom change and you can easily adjust your flash power.
Daytime tea ceremony - M mode mostly and if situation warrants, A mode.
You can usually get the hang of the exposure with one or two test shots. Sunlight does not change that fast or often either so you can safely use one setting if not shooting for long periods of time.
Unless you are going indoors and outdoors and indoors again and pass tunnels and have weird lighting and all.
ahh sunlight. it also depends on direction of the sun. in some cases. turning different area would mean different exposure.
last time i n00b. always use M mode, a lot of things snap la but kinda slow.
then i met some expert photographer from SG - teach me about modes.

nowadays I just stick to modes for the convenience. rarely touch M already.
