btw, congrats on ur HD..

u could still make 3G video calls, however it would be a bit choppy.. registry edits can give u a more personalized feel to ur phone.. download the HD Tweak (at post #1) without the hassle of manual registry editing..

woah, this is nice.. but gonna make the HD bulky.. love the disclaimer though, "HTC Touch HD NOT Included".. lol..

bro, go to Programs > QuickGPS and download the latest fix.. it'll help u get a fix faster..

@ elblue & Lovely_Gal : i'm gonna correct both of u on this so there's no more misunderstanding regarding the 1+1 extended warranty issue, as it has been discussed before..

most of us are getting the Extended Warranty from SiS itself thru its "Privileged Member" signup.. they will give u a membership card and also a free extended warranty period of 1 year plus the original 1 year warranty from the date of purchase..

the one u mentioned, AIG Insurance and also MobiSure are third party companies which also offers extended warranties, u could also upgrade to cover theft, water damage, etc with a nominal monthly fee (depending on sum insured).. how they repair or replace the phone, i'm not sure..

the Touch HD was officially launched by SiS in Malaysia on the 6th of November 2008.. however, sales of the HD was postponed due to stock delay.. it was only opened for booking..

plz refer to post #1 for selling price and packages..

Lineage, it has been mentioned many times that u could get the Touch HD from known resellers/shops, who also get their stock from SiS.. u could get a better price from them.. why do u wanna buy straight from SiS anyway? unless u are planning to buy like 20 units, then it's a different story.. plz read through this thread.. cheers..

most PDAs are using touch sensor and not pressure sensor.. i've owned an iPhone before and the two sensors have a completely different behaviour, example, when typing on an iPhone, it only registers the key after u lift ur finger off the screen, on other (most) PDAs, the key registers at the very moment u tap the screen..

the HD however, i'm not sure, as the typing is similar to the iPhone.. i juz realized that when u slide ur finger to the left on the virtual keyboard, it deletes a character.. slide it to the right and it a space.. hmm..

Added on January 6, 2009, 2:39 amtoday went around KL and tried the GPS with GMXT with latest gold malsingmap.. oh my god, it's damn laggy!! it would stay at one spot till 30secs, which made me miss a few turns and forced me to make a huge u turn, and this happened not on just one occasion..

i guess the GPS chipset that the HD is using is not the latest chipset (or a good one for that matter).. my previous N82 was a lot more accurate and responsive..

lastly i resorted to my own GPS, my head.......

same here.. for me it's one of the fastest and most stable custom ROMs i've used.. and also good battery life.. now running for 3days and still 34% battery..


sorry for being away too long from this thread..

have u tried video calling using another 3G phone with the same sim card?

regarding the settings, i have no trouble setting up the WAP, MMS and Internet settings, just use the Connection Setup tool.. the tool will even prompt if there is an update available..

Added on April 22, 2009, 6:37 amhappened to me once or twice within a day or so.. make sure u clean ur ram, the phone will become sluggish if u have many programs running in the background.. if u try cleaning up ur ram often with 3rd party apps such as CleanRAM, then it will be fine.. i'm experiencing this prob only with WM6.5, non with WM6.1..

i've personally never had this problem, with or without the hotfix.. but i do know some of the guyz here who does.. mind sharing how it looks like?

have u enabled HSDPA/UMTS on ur phone yet? do u have a 3G or H icon at the top bar? sorry i can't guide u as i'm currently using WM6.5..

funny thing bout WM6.5 though, there's also a 3G+ icon, don't know what it is.. lol..

that's weird.. maybe u should hard reset the device.. if problem still persist, that my suggestion would be for u to send your HD for warranty.. don't flash other ROMs yet..

that is a different prob bro.. that edit is for when your HD does not wake up (lights on) when an SMS comes in..

this prob is different, u have to switch the phone on from standby, then only the msg will come in or appear.. sometimes u need to open the messaging program, tap on inbox then only it will ring and the message appear..
