I bought MP4 from China last week. Once I receive the player, I am so happy with its beautiful looking. But I am sad with its terrible manual and its software when I turn on it. The device has marked on the player itself saying that it is an AVI player. It contains a demo avi file which plays reasonably well.

I tried to load up some avi files which play on my computer. But the portable player says incorrect format. I think the problem is that I can not understand functions of player fully. After I tried several times, I still can not upload avi. File.

Can some one suggest what we can try in this situation? Have you come across this situation before? And have you bought any MP4 player from china? I think I have been cheated or the player had problem before shipment. Anyone help me?

Of course it will say can play AVI. AVI files is a container that can have different video/audio format in it.

Most China MP4 use AMV video format. You need to use AMV converter to convert your movie to suitable format for your MP4. The demo file in MP4 is AVI with AMV video format inside.

I found out some China made MP4 came with driver CD only but not the converter (happen to me). So you might need to get the MP3 Player Utilities software (AMV converter come with the package.)

Google for MP3 Player Utilities or AMV converter to download.

What do you mean by terrible manual? The manual doesn't provide basic function of player?

My manual use carca marba language. Only show simple guide, nothing on how to convert video. I think that what he means.

I also like TS before, don't know the format until I use google.

TS, be prepare to format your MP4 a few times... mine one already 6 -7 times format.

you have to download the transfer tool.
AVI can be transferred into the MP4player supported format.
my MP4 player didn't support the AVI format.
