Great idea

My jasper was bought in M'sia and the seller claim that it is Korean set.
No idea what;s the difference btw S'pore set and korean set.
Be reminded that mine can't play old xbox 360 games such as dead rising, DOA4, etc....
Anyway, this is acceptable cause there are tons of new hot titles coming up.....

^ still can play those 2007 games, but most be original ... LOL (DR is awesome!)

An advise to all Jasper owners,

Playing games on HDD is strongly encouraged as it is extremely silent when playing games (try yourself in the night) and it is fast loading.
And it will prolong the lifespan of your disk drive.
it is worthwhile to spend the money on HDD....

money is the problem

korean set also asian set so should have no prob...when those disc can't be played, what's the error?


I dunno zephyr but my falcon also super silent on HDD...and that freaks me...as if the fan not working...so i ended up add an external fan to make some small amout of whinning sound...call me psycho....

Standard xbox console fan is temperature controlled so when the xbox heat is too hot the fan will kick in faster.

but still the fan sucks=.=

Disc No problem. It's b'cos Jasper using the latest firmware thus causing those old games non playable.

May some info where can I buy such 120GB HDD at this attractive price?
Can't wait for 60GB XBox360 JASPER Premium set out.
So decide to get a ARCADE Set + 120GB HDD.
I think this 120GB HDD is self modded OEM XBOX360 HDD, as I read some info somewhere else.
That's why they goes that price.

To my sense.
The JASPER ARCADE Set came out around SEPT 2008 from oversea info.
But till upto DEC we can see in local retails.
Based on JASPER Premium set news was exposed around end NOV 2008, Then I think at least this JASPER Premium set will be available until MAR 2009 as I guess.
So far we can't see any JASPER Premium set sold in local nor oversea.
And this shows a situation that there is still quite a volume FALCON Premium set in Microsoft stock, until they came to low.
Compare to the ratio between ARCADE : Premium : Elite market, then we could sense why the FALCON Premium is still not cleared off until now.

Can't wait for my Gaming time on CNY.

yup...kinda hard for them to clearr out the old falcons..since everyone is goin for the kononnya "Better" Xbox...

I heard alot of Jasper owners here , well not alot , but some post i have seen, of members complaining of the loud noise by their drive.


To be honest, i loaded GTA 4 today, and mute-ed my TV, and surprisingly there was no sound at all, no sound at all while loading and playing the game.

What i can conclude is, probably those who face the issue with loud drive noise are those who runs the "pirated" copy of games bought from stores , as the media they use aren't good in quality but are cheap ones.

depends where u place ur xbox also...if u place ur xbox in a wide open area like ur living room...the sound is kinda unnoticeable...but if in a small room...thats a diffrent thing...

It's in my living room. But just a short distance. Just two steps, (i'm a rather tall person) and i can reach it. It's stored on top , the same as where my TV is stored..

drive load loud might depend on brand also
now market got benq ,liteon & samsung
forget which 1 is louder

Don't conclude it that way...you'll upset a lot of ppl....

xbox360 got at least 3 vendors for DVD drive and lite-on is the one with least noise.

You're lucky to get a silent box. try check out at youtube and you'll be surprised.

my xbox is kinda weird...when playing some games...its quiet...example gears of war,gta4

To let your console in super silent when playing games ---- play on HDD

or if u play on disk drive, try play in day time . The noise is not obvious when playing in day time compared to night time.

its not the jasper got new firmware,the drive firmware to play ahem2 games is different(i-extreme) just to allow the console to go online with ahem2 games and not be banned,some old games cannot play.Get a unmodded console sure all games can play no such thing as compatibility problems.

Actually even with iXtreme, you'd get banned if you go online playing "ahem2" games bought from your local stores. The ones that doesn't get you banned (at least you are 90% safe) is games that you get online (DL) and then you patch them so their data matches the ones at the retail stores , and thus you're at least secured to play online. Of course to stay safe, you shouldn't load any game bought from stores at all as the data would already (as people claim) in the xbox 360's Nand. Once you go online, the data would be sent and your machine would be flagged. So to be safe, never play bootlegged games bought from your peddlers.

And , one more thing where you're wrong is , it's not that they flash the xbox360 to play online with ahem2 games, but it is because the new iXtreme works with the latest drives included with the 360, Liteon. To save their cost, and time, they would just flash it with iXtreme 1.5 instead of using their old method , which is to replace the drives with Samsung drives.
