Currently using an iphone 3g that is locked to optus
Ive been reading about optus locked units and i found this

3. Make at least one call using that very same iPhone with the provided Optus SIM card (enabling Optus to register your IMEI number on their database)

I bought this iphone from a shop that sells second hand phone and they cant get hold of the previous owner.
Now that im in malaysia , how do i get optus to unlock the phone for me ?
Do i just call them and tell them my IMEI number and ask them to unlock it for me ?
or do i need someone in australia to do that

Im currently using turbosim and it seems that my signal can never stay with me more then ten minutes before a complete loss of signal that requires CPR in another phone to bring back the signal

Anyone can help out ?
