mold in kitchen mostly because of remnants of food and the dark and humid place in cupboards and the moisture are what mold thrives on my parents taught me to use vinegar. spray to the are where mold grow. there's a lot of mold killing cleaners and powder out there also.

Get a can of Lysol and spray them to death... or use a mild bleach solution to disinfect.

Usually mold's or fungi will grow in dark, damp and poorly ventilated areas... search and eliminate the source of water, keep the place dry and well ventilated.

I've heard vinegar is a cheap way to kill mold, but air-con & salt can work??? shocking.gif

Just wondering, would the mold spread to other places in the home?
As I have a air-purifier, so afraid the mold will spread to the air-purifier area...

hi there..i'm new here :-)

i have a mold problem in my cupboards and kitchen cabinets. it's annoying the hell out of me.

i read your suggestions on using salt and vinegar and keeping the place dry. Ok i'll try the salt and vinegar but my place is definately dry. it's just poorly ventilated that's all i think.

6 months ago i bought an expensive wooden chest of drawers and now the insides (where the clothes are) - there's mold growing. i bought blue hyppo for each of the 6 drawers and no mold now.

driving me nuts !! any other suggestions welcome.

thanks!! :-)

Ok, there is a new product in town called Farcent charcoal to remove dampness in your drawers & closet.
This is far more better then Thirsty Hippo. It's available in Jusco.
The price might be higher but it's very effective.
Make sure you choose the correct one because some are for car use.
Cheers!
