recommend me a gaming headset( with mic of course), budget range 150-200

I'm planning to get Razer Carcharias at RM200. According to reviews, a lot of people say it's really comfortable for really long hours of gaming.

Razer Carcharias can find for RM200? You mean 2nd hand?

Yes it is comfortable. Mic is also good. The headset itself is pretty light so the pressure or weight will not bother your long hours of gaming. Sound quality is good but can't beat the cheaper Superlux headphones. But its not that it sounds bad, just not as good. If you don't already own a better headphone, you will not notice it and it will not bother you. If can find Carcharias for RM200, I would say its a great deal if it's new.

Packaging is where the Razer shines. If it matters to you.

Oh god, didn't see the pricing right. Must have been my blurry eyes from the fever. Then let's say I increase my budget to roughly RM300, what should I get?

well, I'm a gamer and usually play with my friends so I need the mic. Thanks for the recommendation though.

Yeah i loved Razer Chicharias,i used it for 3 years + b4 it died on me sad.gif  one of my favorite headset.
Now i'm trying Roccat Kulo, this headset the sound so loud leh, even at 24% volume loudness still beat my old Razer Chicharias with full 100% volume jack up  laugh.gif I need to reduce music and sound volume in any games if not my ears will explode.
*
Is the kulo comfortable? It's on-the-ear right? Does it feel good? And for the Carcharias, did u have any problems with it within the 3 years?

For Kulo the sound is crisp and good i like it,maybe 1 thing i don't like a bit bout kulo is the earphone yeah its on the ear not like the chicharias cupped ear design.

Within the 3 years of using chicharias,i don't have any problem with it,just it went totally dead on me one day(no sound coming out at all, prolly the wire faulty or something) but beware the length of chicharias wire is very long one.  smile.gif and also the sound a little bit soft even after i maxxed out the volume.

Alright, u convinced me cause some people in Amazon and newegg commented saying they break after 1 year. Now that u've convinced me, I thank you! notworthy.gif

new headset for broadcast? awesome thumbup.gif  by the way why don't wanna get brand new Kraken Pro? it's only 299 from Heavyarm + 1 year warranty. Kraken Pro is excellent gaming headset with a good mic and comfortable to use as well. i can say it's match with Steelseries Siberia V2 i use now in term of comfort and sound quality.

just suggestion  smile.gif
*
Well I have considered it but it has leatherette ear pads which is the reason why I'm buying a new headset now. My current G35's leatherette earpads started peeling off and ges really messy that's why I decided to get the Carcharias. Tell me from your personal experience, how long did u have those and how much do u use them? Does the leather peel off? I play tons and tons of games, usually wear them for minimum 3 hours to maximum 10 hours per day. smile.gif

i use Siberia V2 for more then 1 year and Kraken Pro just about month only. previously changed from normal V2 to Frost Blue V2. usually i use my V2 at least minimum 5 hours and maximum up to 12 hours or more. it's comfortable enough for me but i know sometimes when you sweat alot around your ears, it's bothering me too.

why i don't really like about cushion type earpads is especially you have pet at inside your house like dog or cat because usually their fur will stick to the cushion earpads and it's very tricky to get it off when it's too much. dust also easily get attracted by cushion type earpads. this is why i get leather type earpads headphone. so far V2 that i used work perfectly fine with no tear off or what so ever and i meant the previous one that i use which normal V2. i guess Kraken Pro gonna be the same too seems it was my first time using Kraken Pro.

sorry, my english bad. hope you understand what i meant  laugh.gif
*
Now I'm not sure whether to get Carcharias or Kraken Pro now that u told me this. My house doesn't have a pet so don't have to worry about fur getting on the ear cushions. But, Cushion should be much easier to clean compared to leather. No idea how to wash leatherette earpads. Mind teaching me? Plus leatherette earpads tend of get warm after a few hours. Might convince me to get the Kraken Pro instead. xD

well i use TTeSports headset which cushion earpads before. i have a cat at home and it's very annoying to clean up the earpads. i use TTeSports headset for like 5 months, the first 2 months.. the cushion pad already have a dust. after keep cleaning it up, dust still come back. i keep cleaning it up and still have a dust attracted to the pads. so that's why i decided to change to leather type earpads.

wash it huh? urm well it's seems like i never wash my leather pads lol sweat.gif mind me.. because i don't really see dust or fur attracted to a leather pads so i assume everything was clean laugh.gif

i suggest you go to any gaming store like Heavyarm and test each one of headset available at there. i found out that Kraken Pro has much more bass then Carcharias when i tested it out. (well it's my opinion)  thumbup.gif
*
Well, if i need to keep cleaning the ear pads I don't mind. Leather ear pads of course won't have anything attracted to it, but the smell of my sweat on the earpads is reli bad. Like my G35's now. Don't even feel like wearing them anymore. I'll take your advice and go to his shop if I have the time. So now it's either Razer Carcharias or Razer Kraken Pro. We'll see what I get maybe around Friday, I guess.

oraite mang, glad to help you. btw, wondering when we gonna see Season 4 of Lowyat Dota 2. miss your broadcast haha. anyway i support your broadcast too  notworthy.gif
*
hahaha well, Not sure if I'm going back to broadcasting because
1) My PC's in the living room so there's a lot of background noise
2) My commentating might disturb my family members watching TV
3) No privacy when commentating and my mum sometimes makes fun of me while commentating.

I'll see how it goes. Hopefully I'll go back to commentating. If u wan Season 4 of LYN Dota 2 tourney to happen faster, then sponsor some prizes! xD

Hohoho, gud luk on organizing your tournament. But I tried commentating on one of my friend's 1v1 mid dota tournament. Really have nothing to say. Literally, no action xD But once action appears, it's epic! Thanks for the luck, I know both headsets' mics are good so hopefully I can find "MY" headset! xD

AKG K550 for music. i used it for gaming sometimes.

gonna get another proper gaming headset with mic.

how is logitech G930?
*
Well I own the wired version of the G930 which is the G35 and I can say the ear cups are big so they feel comfortable, the sound is nice but for long hours of gaming, it can get heavy, for me that is. But overall, really great, just that the leather on the ear pads started to peel off.

Btw, got the kraken pro. Quite nice! Wish the ear pads were a bit bigger but quite comfortable. Had to play around the equalizer for a bit. Found the right one for me! smile.gif But when watching youtube, its like they're talking with a cloth over their mouth. Is yours the same?

I thought, those most professional gaming headset doesnt work just like the other normal~audiophile head
some were tune on mid and high, also lot of treble n bass..therefore u could hear that bullet sound

OFC, changing EQ might slightly work.
Correct me if Im wrong smile.gif
*
I tried different presets, found the perfect one. Makes it sound crystal clear! biggrin.gif Go to the bottom right >right click speaker and choose Playback Devices, click properties on your headset > enchancements > Equalizer, choose the preset "Powerful" makes it better! smile.gif but the bass wont be as strong as before cause the default setting makes the higher pitch sounds lower so that the bass sounds louder

so you have a big ears lah? haha joke biggrin.gif

anyway Corsair Vengeance price much cheaper then Kraken Pro right? how was it compare to Kraken Pro in terms of sounds and microphone? last time i wanted to buy that headset too but my friend suggest brought something else.
*
Corsair vengeance 1500 is RM50 more expensive than the Kraken Pro. The bass of the corsair isnt as good as the kraken since kraken's audio is bass oriented but the overall audio for the corsair is really good. Plus the surround sound on it is suprisingly accurate. Really comes in handy when playing FPS. microphone quality is good as well.

awww i mistaken between 1300 and 1500. i see, that's good! surround system is what i like to have in my gaming headset. my Steelseries V2 does served me really well with 7. 1 surround sound. especially when you hearing something like Sunstrike on Invoker, so syiok! biggrin.gif
*
LOL IKR! Anyways, Corsair Vengeance 1500

Audio Quality: 4/5
Comfort: At first, it was itchy. But you just need to get used to it. 5/5

any comment regarding astro headset ? like a40 /a50 ? is a40 better since it come with astro mixamp
*
The a50 also comes with a mixamp, its just that the a50 is wireless while the a40 is wired. They also made it lighter, more comfortable etc.typical upgrades.

If you just do a search on this thread itself using the search function, plenty has been said about the A40 and A50.
A40 is IMO however, a better sounding headset than the A50. You don't need the Mixamp if you're just going to be playing on the PC, Dolby Headphone can be gotten cheaper with an Asus Xonar U3 or DGX.

Also, if you haven't already figured out, there are better choices than the A40 in a similar price range.
If you have a budget of RM1000, why would you be wasting money on gaming headsets?

Philips Fidelio X1
AKG K612
AKG Q701
Sony MA-900 (though, very hard to get now a days)
Beyerdynamic DT880
Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro

List goes on and on... all of which would do better than anything the Corsair V2100 will ever dream of doing.
*
Not sure whether you're saying that I should spend that money on upgrading my PC or I should spend that money on audiophile headsets, but gonna answer u anyways. These headphones looks good, but I guess I wasn't specific enough when I asked for recommendations, sry. I am trying to look for wireless headsets (included mic) as I don't want a clip on mic then there's no point getting a wireless headset. Hope you could give me some great recommendations. smile.gif And I guess I shouldn't put that high of a budget, let's say rm600?
