QUOTE(Sentinel92 @ Apr 23 2014, 06:11 PM) Talk about overkill for gaming haha. What amp you're getting? And why do I have a ffeeling I know the seller. The audio gd precision 2.You probably recognize the carpet if you ever go to her audition hall Highly recommended seller, cheap price and first class service. Unlike some other seller that sell at malaysia's inflated price and rude (ingame and irl) *cough cough* |

QUOTE(Sentinel92 @ Apr 23 2014, 06:42 PM) Nice setup you have going there. I assume your PC is gonna be kickass as well. So comfortable you dont notice it on your head after a while and even running out of a puny Xonar U3 from my laptop still is the best headphone ive ever heard..Jumping from Roccat Kave to this is mind blowing..some songs keep giving me goosebumps Once I get the amp and this baby is burned in I wonder how it will sound.. |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Apr 23 2014, 07:57 PM) I'll give you a spoiler, it's like the first time you had... you-know-what. Haha i've always wondered why people willing to spend money for a good pair..audio bliss is real after all..im planning to stop with the amp and sound blaster zxr for the dsp, no cable hehe..a dac with optical in does sound tempting though Now in all seriousness, the HD800 are sounstage monsters. Put this on with a properly mixed FPS and then with a little bit of practise, I guarantee you that you will be in the top of the leaderboard most of the time. Otherwise for immersiveness, I bloody love the HD800 for what it is capable with (TH-900 takes the cake on the best presentation of bass in headphones I've ever heard). Now just don't get stucked up in buying $200 custom cables to replace the ones on the HD800, that'd just be a waste of money. Honestly, the only reason i chose hd800 is for the soundstage..i play alot of battlefield 4 and planning to get titanfall once my pc arrive.. This setup+triple Dell U2414H..a lifelong dream finally achieved This post has been edited by bl@ze: Apr 23 2014, 08:22 PM |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Apr 23 2014, 08:32 PM) Wait hold on! I got the zxr used for cheap so its fine.. I didnt know the RCA is different from the built in headphone line-out though, thanks for the heads up! You're gonna do line-out from ZxR > Precision 2 > HD800? There's a problem here. The headphone line-out on the ZxR (as well as the entire Z series) has high distortion and channel imbalance, something the RCA line-out does not. However at the same time the ZxR's headphone line out is the one you want to use for SBX as the algorithms for that is different to the SBX afixed to the RCA line out. You'd want to go optical out from the ZxR (in which case you should just save RM400 and get a Z instead) to an external DAC with optical input then to Precision 2. Guess it gives me a perfectly good excuse to get that DAC Hmm whats a good one for around 1.5k? Im currently eyeing the NFB2 from audio gd but not sure about the optical input but they do custom specs.. |

QUOTE(Sentinel92 @ Apr 23 2014, 08:47 PM) Eh? Serious? How about the Creative X-Fi Titanium Professional? I got it second hand but haven't had the chance to test it out yet. Rig still getting modded. I got this one: Haha damn you are good...you watch the garage sales like a hawk huh...yea i got it from the sarawak seller http://www.soundblaster.com/products/Sound...Audio-PCIe.aspx Btw bl@ze, you got the ZXR of some Sarawak seller right? That's the only ZXR I could think of being sold cheap. Hahaha. But on the DAC, get the Loki. The Gungnir is above your budget. I'm gonna do more research on the gungnir...budgets are...flexible |
