if u are speaking of 5.1 headset, i think roccat kave is the best one to date.

compared to megalodon, it's also much cheaper.
*
agree...
if speakin of REAL 5.1 (not include virtual sound), kave is the 1 of the best so far...
compared to barracuda, kave almost beat barracuda in all aspects except the weight sweat.gif (almost every reviewer said tat =.=)
compared to psyko 5.1, psyko is too exp =.= can get a better hs at tat price sweat.gif
Turtle Beach =.=? seldom see ppl use tis hs in MY... not sure abt it
etc...

btw, megalodon is 7.1 =.="

they made a simple comparision between AD700 and Roccat Kave:
http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/500924...-roccat-kave/15

both are good hs but both hav their own pros and cons...
QUOTE
Personally I would go with the AD700 because it is a cross platform headphone.

QUOTE
Well the thing is, With roccat kave you will hear footsteps farther away, giving you more time to react and bigger immersion

With ad700, you'll hear it only when it is really close to you, giving you just a bit of time to react, in case you are camping or so, the thing is you'll hear it clearer and more pleasing to your ears

QUOTE
Yes but the problem is that not all the sounds are sent to 2 speakers, but the surround and center channels are present on the roccat fully, while you'd get them in another condition with the ad700.

Well I think you got what I meant.

I have a roccat system and a sennheiser hd600 and mixamp and I know what I am saying.

It is awareness +information+lower volumes+ good sound quality VS less awareness and information +higher volumes+ EXECELENT sound quality

QUOTE
After that, as everyone was using dolby headphones, but I tell you, if what you want is the headset to help you be aware of what your enemies are doing in a multiplayer you should stay with zalman or upgrade to roccat as they are great, and are the best 5.1 headset around.

QUOTE
Ah, if you have onboard sound, of the motherboard, Roccat Kave will be a better choice. If you plan to buy a soundcard, something like the Xonar DX or Essence or Creative X-Fi, then AD700 will be the better choice.

abt REAL 5.1 and VIRTUAL 7.1
after i read abt 20+ reviews
i cant make a conclusion which 1 is better...
some said VIRTUAL sound will never beat REAL sound
some said you can hear footsteps more clearer in VIRTUAL 7.1 coz it got 7 directions
bla bla bla... rclxub.gif
one man food is another man's poison
all depend on the user~ (my fren like strong bass and he say its just nice but when i listen to it, i feel like the bass is too strong ad =.=)

ohya, they said Turtle Beach hs is cheaper than Roccat Kave...
anybody try b4?

how about g35???
*
wanted to buy it last time but at the end i choose Kave coz i prefer real sound xP
if u own soundcard or planning to buy a soundcard, dun buy g35
coz g35 hav it own software and will not work with other soundcard software
not suitable to bring g35 to cc unless u wan to bring ur cd and install the software there everytimes =.="

QUOTE
The Logitech G35 can take Youtube videos, 2-channel game audio, and other stereo sources such as certain music, and convert it naturally to 7.1 using what is called Dolby Pro Logic II. This allows the user to experience a surround sound environment while listening to only stereo sound. Obviously, this does not actually create a real surround sound environment. It basically tricks the brain into thinking that there are multiple locations of where the speakers are. Certain individuals who usually don't go by sound, or rarely use headphones in games from time to time, will have trouble with getting the most of the Logitech G35. It is however possible to train your mind to be much more sensitive to such sound, therefore making it easier for the person to hear the differences in direction of sound.

QUOTE(victor2212 @ Aug 26 2010, 07:16 PM)
is it heavy? alot ppl complain about the weight.
*
yea... the weight is a problem for certain ppl
it's abt 400g, honestly it is heavier than other hs but dun worry it wont break ur neck xD
ok for me, i can wear it for 5 hours cool.gif
if wanna feel the weight try put something 400g around ur head LOL~
ohya, Kave is closed back hs, and closed back hs usually will make u sweat if u wear it for few hours sweat.gif

help me choose guys:

RAzer Carcharias

VS

Steel Series 5Hv2

I'm currently using roccat Kave 5.1, the sound quality is very good. But it's juz too heavy for me and I wish to get a new one.

I used to own a 5Hv2, i sold it cause i thought it's was going to be collecting dust. I miss 5Hv2!~ </3

So i wanna know if Razer Carcharias is better than 5hv2? The only good thing i know is that it's significantly cheaper than 5Hv2. I wanna know if it's as comfortable and sounds as good as 5hv2.  hmm.gif

Thanks!  notworthy.gif

QUOTE(Boomeraangkid @ Aug 30 2010, 07:38 PM)
ok so lets say i get a sound card and get either the v2 or carcharias, its as good as a kave ore megalodon wo sound card?
*
I use Kave and Carcharias b4
seriously Carcharias suck without soundcard rclxub.gif
its a gaming hs so its like 90% treble 10% bass doh.gif all high freq sound, good for gaming like cs but bad for music doh.gif
with soundcard, the sound quality is much more better but personally i think it still cannot beat Kave w/o soundcard

5hv2 & siberia v2 i never use b4... no comment... sweat.gif

mayb u can try audiophile hp + soundcard + extra mic tongue.gif

*u cant even plug megalodon to ur soundcard coz it is usb (got any soundcard can support usb? lol)
anyway, megalodon got its own build in soundcard

QUOTE(metaloid @ Aug 31 2010, 01:02 AM)
noob here =P can someone recommend me something under rm100? the cheaper the better..oh and there are many sizes of phones..is it better to get those big ones??

definitely big 1 better
agree with victor. big 1 hav better noise canceling cool.gif
small 1 might make ur ear feel pain sometimes...

QUOTE(genjo @ Aug 30 2010, 08:51 PM)
try a REAL audiophile headset, u will see the difference. smile.gif

eh, bro i wanna ask u something notworthy.gif

how much the kastam tax you =.=? exp?
my fren said tat electric and electronic things kena tax more than 30% =.= issit?

how bout Kave with sound card? sounds awesome? btw its not time yet, when i get my new pc i'll decide. till then i think should have more options  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
it is very good compared with Carcharias and Barracuda...

BUT

if u planning to get a sound card, i think u should choose audiophile hp
if u dun wan to get a sound card, Kave is nice (except the weight LOL)

see tis AD700 vs Kave:
http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/500924...-vs-roccat-kave

just like me, sometimes i bring my hs/hp to cc or fren's pc
quite imposible for me to bring along the sound card and driver/software cd together...
so i hav to use Kave instead of g35 or other audiophile + sound card (coz they dun allow me to install driver/software there rclxub.gif )

when u get ur new pc, there should be a lot of new hp/hs thumbup.gif
razer orca is 1 of them
sound nice drool.gif but hav to try it 1st to know it really "sound nice" or not cool.gif

For me, both has its own purpose and etc, therefore, cant always poison people to go Audiophile biggrin.gif

i thought kave already has it's own build in usb sound card??  hmm.gif

NO... Kave DONT HAVE build in sound card... the rectangle box is not a sound card, it just a desktop remote
if got build-in sound card, i believe Kave will pwn all those virtual sound gaming hs easily...
make a build-in 5.1 sound card is costly and not easy...
megalodon, g35 etc actually are stereo(2.0/2.1) but the sound card make them become virtual 7.1

QUOTE(Boomeraangkid @ Sep 1 2010, 03:28 PM)
any all rounder headsets?
*
depend... headset tat sound nice to me might not sound nice to u...
for me, these few gaming headset are nice for game and music/movie:
Megalodon Build-in sound card Virtual 7.1 Software-less(nonid to install anything) Open-Air
Kave NO Build-in sound card Real 5.1 Software-less(nonid to install anything) Closed-Back
G35 Build-in sound card Virtual 7.1 Need to install the G35 software from cd Closed-Back
Siberia v2 USB Build-in sound card Virtual 7.1 Need to download the software from internet Closed-Back

Im not sure abt audiophile headphone sure but i gonna find out soon brows.gif brows.gif Sennheiser... drool.gif drool.gif
u can ask the others, most likely they will recommended you to get Audio Technica or Sennheiser cool.gif

almost all audiophile are hp coz they dun nid a mic... only gamer nid a mic sweat.gif
just buy an extra mic sweat.gif

kave (no sound card)
magalodon (build-in sound card)
g35 (build-in sound card)
siberia v2 USB (build-in sound card)

not sure abt audiophile hp, i still a newbie in audiophile doh.gif

Siberia V2 USB is not really "build-in".
its a adapter..

yup i know tat =.= i just dun wan make thing complicated so i assume it as "build-in"
coz when buy Siberia v2 USB it come with the sound card << assume as "build-in" laugh.gif
(if not i have to type more and expain more ><") rclxub.gif
anyway, my bad... i shouldnt use the word "build-in" i should use "come with" doh.gif

*u also can buy v2 and the soundcard seperately

for the information,
u not really nid to use the soundcard... u can plug the jacks str8 to ur pc and it will become a stereo hs, no more virtual 7.1 cry.gif
same like Kave, if u just plug in the green jack, it will become a normal stereo hs
but pointless to do tat doh.gif buy a good hs but only use 20% of it... really a waste doh.gif doh.gif

not all...
some gaming headset actually hav good bass

when i play cs, i minimize my bass, so i can hear footsteps easier
when i listen to music or watch movie, i set it to middle, so it is neither too strong nor too weak
when i go mad, i maximize my bass by doing some trick with the eq/software and boost the bass, so i get a free head massage <-- my head SWT sweat.gif after listening abt 20 minutes... the bass too strong for me ad LOL
