Can you guys recommend me a headset? I'll be playing music from TwoStepsFromHell most of the time and mainly slow songs.
I wanted to get the Rosewill RHTS 8206 at 1st due to the pricetag, but am having 2nd thoughts because it's USB connected. I plan to use it 80% from my Android and 20% perhaps watching movies or something. Budget is indeed an issue, but if I get poisoned, it increses It stands around the price of the Rosewill currently at 200 bucks. An added mic would be great (but has to be detechable!) |

QUOTE(Skidd Chung @ Apr 29 2013, 01:30 PM) When you say Android, I'm assuming from your smartphone or tab. Thanks for the recommendation. Another of my friend actually recommended that I go for the Superlux 688B, which fits my small budget lol.The Rosewill 8206 is not for portable use, as first of all, this headset is heavy at 450g. 2nd is it is a USB connection with a dongle and a 3 meter long cable. And 3rd, surround sound with different small speakers that vibrate doesn't play music very well. I can recommend the JVC HA-S400 which is regarded with respect in the audiophile community, is foldable, portable and fits your budget. You can find in the LYN Garage http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2646610/+20 If you need something cheaper and with no warranty, get the Superlux HD 681. Another awesome set for a budget. Please note that the above 2 does not come with any mic. I need noise cancellation by the way Is there anywhere that I'm able to test this Superlux? I don't mind the lack of warranty, only if that brand is renown for it's durability. |

QUOTE(Skidd Chung @ Apr 30 2013, 08:25 AM) Noise cancellation? Or do you mean noise isolation? My mistake, should have been noise isolation.Noise cancellation is actually a term where the headphone is purposely built with a button, that activates a frequency to kill all ambient sound from the environment. That's active noise cancellation. Not recommended for portables especially walking in the street unless you tend to travel a lot in a plane or bus. Unfortunately you can't find any good headphone with active noise cancellation for under RM200. And most critical headphones do NOT use noise cancellation, it's more of a necessity rather than a feature. People buy it for listening to music in planes because they want to silent out the continuous drone of the plane engines and air conditioning. Noise isolation is how well the headphone pads isolate your ears against the ambient sounds of the environment and how well it keeps the sound of your music in your ear. This is passive and depends how the headphone is design whether it's a closed or open back and if the ear pads are well made to cover your ears. It's actually very easy to do this and most manufacturers can totally close up your ears if they wanted to isolate you, but it will mean your ears will be very sweaty and hot. So most headphone makers have to find a balance between noise isolation and comfort. I use the Superlux HD 681, it's under RM100 and it'll blow your mind for that price. Sounds good. I'll probably go take a look at Superlux. Do you know where I could possibly test it? I'm from Sunway |
