hmm for some reason, i think we shud try to refrain ourselves from discussing audiophile headphones in gaming headphones thread. doh.gif
yes, the audiophile headphones pawn so-called gaming headphones all the way, but when it comes to pure gaming, these 'gaming' headphone has an advantage solely on virtual surround sound. smile.gif

Well, i heard siberia v2 is better than both of them. not to mention the price of the megaladon.. its too much for a 'gaming' headset, the bundled soundcard, well, just not up to the par of a normal decent soundcard.
just make sure u have a decent soundcard for siberia, asus stx is good choice. smile.gif

Alright just finished testing my Sennheiser HD 598 for a good 3 days now. I can say without a doubt bloody wasted money on so called "Gaming Headsets" wtfPWN blah blah marketing doh.gif

Clarity + Soundstage is godlike. I'm still using virtual surround 7.1 provided by the Steelseries USB. Bass on the Sennheiser HD 598 is balanced just the way I like it. Tried the DT880 & few others for me the bass get's too prominent. I like clarity + bass. Listening to my music collections & by "GOD" didn't realize so many different instruments in many of the songs also how clear it all sounded.

Playing Games "Jesus" it's another level. Left4dead 2 can pick those fools up easily. Also in game music when playing Starcraft 2/Witcher 2 is hella more immersive. God can't wait for Diablo 3 to give me the "CHILLS" at night shocking.gif

Gaming headsets I used to own:
Roccat Kave 5.1 (True 5.1)
Steelseries 7h USB (Virtual 7.1)

101% agree there is a huge difference between those headphones and audiophile gaming headphones. Not all audiophile headphones can do gaming so please do some research before purchasing.
Headphone Gaming Guide

Alright if your having an issue since the headphone doesn't come with a mic. I bought an external mic. (Mic is expensive but freaking clear go YouTube people using it to do their Podcasting + Music recordings)
Samson Meteor Mic

Alternative mic. If you want something cheaper & fixed on your headphone. Many in the forum at Head-Fi say it's better than the crappy Zalman Clip-on
ModMic

Will be getting the Creative X-Fi Titanium HD since they say sounds the best for games & has better bass then the STX. Did the research and people who have both sound cards have recommended the X-Fi for gaming & music.
Reference 1
Reference 2

Go out and check which suits your tastes better. Yeah & the new Razer Tiamat 7.1 hahaha more like Kiamat. If you can afford audiophile headphones go with it. Their more expensive but will last way longer then the next new Gaming Headphone PWN PWN marketing bs mad.gif

You should have opted for hd558 sennheiser though. Minimal - no difference. (unless you're a sucker for the white color tongue.gif )
At my place in Russia, hd558 = rm350, hd598 = rm500. Way cheaper than in Malaysia. Maybe its due to taxes etc, i dunno.

Tried lots of gaming headset, none can touch even thlow-mid range audiophile headphones.

The ONLY benefit is the attached mic. And thats it.

guys,i have a Razer Carcharias
the problem is the right speaker is a bit louder than the left speaker
and the bass is clearer from the right speaker than the left speaker
any solution?
thx!

u can manually adjust the volume for either side of the headphones.

but then again, if i were you, i would just grab a new headphone.

since you're in russia, i suggest u shud go for Sennheiser HD558, rm35x (after converted from rubles). its way better than 'gaming headphones' out there in both gaming and music. smile.gif
