roccat kave 5.1 is damn heavy

ur head and neck will hurt if u're not used to it.

I've been using kave for almost 6 months now and my neck still hurts especially during long hours of gaming.

megalodon is virtual 7.1...not 5.1.

one of the cheapest real 5.1 headphones in the market is the zalman, below RM200.
for virtual surround headphones, that day i saw one in ALLIT for RM199 comes with a surround sound module thats shaped like a tube...cant remember what its called.

but imo, all surround headphones / sets / virtual or real are just a waste of money.
a good soundcard + a good stereo set is good enough already and definitely sound better also.

thats why there exists sets like razer carcharias or steelseries siberia v2.

try a REAL audiophile headset, u will see the difference.

seriously Carcharias suck without soundcard 
its a gaming hs so its like 90% treble 10% bass  all high freq sound, good for gaming like cs but bad for music 
with soundcard, the sound quality is much more better but personally i think it still cannot beat Kave w/o soundcard

5hv2 & siberia v2 i never use b4... no comment...

mayb u can try audiophile hp + soundcard + extra mic 

*u cant even plug megalodon to ur soundcard coz it is usb (got any soundcard can support usb? lol)
anyway, megalodon got its own build in soundcard
definitely big 1 better
agree with victor. big 1 hav better noise canceling 
small 1 might make ur ear feel pain sometimes...

it is very good compared with Carcharias and Barracuda...

BUT

if u planning to get a sound card, i think u should choose audiophile hp
if u dun wan to get a sound card, Kave is nice (except the weight LOL)

just like me, sometimes i bring my hs/hp to cc or fren's pc
quite imposible for me to bring along the sound card and driver/software cd together...
so i hav to use Kave instead of g35 or other audiophile + sound card (coz they dun allow me to install driver/software there  )

when u get ur new pc, there should be a lot of new hp/hs 
razer orca is 1 of them
sound nice    but hav to try it 1st to know it really "sound nice" or not 

i got 1,what i think bout this headset(noob opinion).....this my 1st headset anyway so i cant compare w8 others...

1.Good surround 7.1 headphones.
2.good sound quality
3.Comfortable,sometimes i can wear for hours...
Cons
1. Typical Bass,not BOOMY 
2.Got ears sweaty if room is hot,no air flow..
3.Quite heavy-maybe i not use to wear headset b4....

NO... Kave DONT HAVE build in sound card... the rectangle box is not a sound card, it just a desktop remote
if got build-in sound card, i believe Kave will pwn all those virtual sound gaming hs easily...
make a build-in 5.1 sound card is costly and not easy...
megalodon, g35 etc actually are stereo(2.0/2.1) but the sound card make them become virtual 7.1
depend... headset tat sound nice to me might not sound nice to u...

u can ask the others, most likely they will recommended you to get Audio Technica or Sennheiser 
yalor... topic title is "Gaming Headset Club" but inside all are Audio Technica, Sennheiser etc... all abt audiophile... 

i mean Sennheiser hd5xx series and Sennheiser hd6xx series   
pc151 actually is a headset focus more on gaming, so the bass wont so "boom boom" ~

A headset is a headphone combined with a microphone

almost all audiophile are hp coz they dun nid a mic... only gamer nid a mic 
just buy an extra mic

they remind me of skull candy headphones, which btw sound like crap.
they both fall under 'fashion' headphones, that about says it all.

powerful bass for what?
cannot even listen to music properly...after all u hear is woom woom woom or whatever...
rm20 cost price better i go eat one carls jr burger or buy some nice ice cream...
at least i know i be happy rather than wasting rm20 on some stupid thing and then cursing urself for not using that rm20 get a nice meal
