Hey guys, anyone using the Hammerhead Pro? Does it sound any good?
Some reviews said the bass is lacking, some said it's very balanced while some said its poundingly muddy. @__@ As far as I know, no place to try them out. |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Dec 16 2013, 11:44 AM) A50 had a very hard time cause by the software updates. From the moment I got mine till they finally found a solution took around 8 months. The mic quality was way to sensitive that it picks up the slightest breeze noise & mic recording problem as it cuts off every 5 seconds, incompatibility with Skype, and battery problem. All these made customers very angry and eventually send them back for refunds. The customer service also did not help anyone. But it's all fixed now and I still have mine, tho it did cost me a lot of money getting it ship to malaysia (wasn't available from Astro site) and facing all this problem plus the worse customer service experience, I still won't sell this baby for anything. |

You can actually check out garage sale thread, I believe there is a few Steelseries Siberia V2 Dota edition which were for sale cheap since a lot of people bought it just for the in game item. |

QUOTE(EdwardNewgate @ Dec 17 2013, 01:49 PM) Well another I can think of is the Logitech G230 which should be around your budget. Never tested it before but it does come with 3 year warranty so that is always good. Check online for reviews and see how it fares with other similar priced models. |

Design wise looks 'cool' enough, can't tell how solid it is based on the picture. Solidness meaning, it doesn't creak when using or when moving your head around. Removable flexible microphone is a good feature. In head-fi.org, gamers mod their audiophile headphone to attached a removable cable or buy a mod-mic from Antlion. So this option to remove the mic is a good feature for people who wants to use it as a portable headphone. From the spec sheet, the impedance seemed rather high at 68 ohms for a portable headset. But I think as long as below 100 should not really matter. Difference cables provided in the package for difference uses is always welcome. Somehow, looking at the total package, I don't think Bitfenix will sell this below RM300. Edit: I'm beginning to think this is a improved and re-branded Superlux HD661. The specs are very similar to the Superlux and also the look as well. The weight of the headphone is also similar so is the 68 ohm impedance. And reading Bitfenix announcement about their partnership with a audio vendor with 30 years experience which if you read Superlux history, was also a company founded 30 years ago. Coincidence? Edit 2: Superlux HD661 sells for about RM150 with limited warranty in MY. Let'e see how much Bitfenix can sell their Flo with their improvements. QUOTE(EdwardNewgate @ Dec 17 2013, 01:49 PM) What kind of headsets are you looking for? Those earphone/in-ear types or those that go on/over your ear (headphones)? If your budget is about RM200, there are mobile headsets (with microphone) that are in-ear from Sennheiser that goes about RM199; their sound is pretty balanced, not bass-heavy as gaming brands. I forgot the model number, but it is similar to MM70i/s or something; do check them out. |

Hi guys, I was looking for the best bang for the buck headset for gaming, but as many people here have said, gaming headsets are hardly worth it for their price when compared to their audio quality. So, after snooping around a bit, I found the Superlux HD681 EVO for RM 149. Now, I need a good standalone microphone to combo with it, but I haven't found much.. The Antlion ModMic and the Zalman ZM-Mic1 mics are quite expensive after counting shipping etc. And another mic a kind member in this thread suggested a few months ago (http://dx.com/p/mini-clip-on-microphone-7080) is cheap, but takes like 3 weeks to ship here.
That being said, sifus can please recco a good mic that's available immediately cuz I need to get in my gaming sessions before the end of the year haha! Otherwise, I'll just wait 3 weeks for the clip on microphone to ship over Q__Q |
