Ceres 400 by Cooler Master here
not a bad one for gaming with the bass ! although the lacking a bit treble causes it to fall a bit in music and movies . question : what do you set for dolby advanced audio settings ? between music , gaming and videos . |

Razer Kraken 7.1 vs SteelSeries Siberia V2 Frost Blue
Which will you choose? Kraken is cheaper, digital microphone but I think no 3.5mm connection? Frost Blue has better sound driver, but microphone seems weak. My requirement: - Good sound - Comfort and not easily get hot after few hours of usage - Decent microphone |

QUOTE(alfiejr @ Oct 8 2013, 02:24 AM) It's an entry level soundcard that comes with fairly decent amp and DAC though. The soldered op-amps aren't too off the mill cheap stuff either. So yes, if this is your first soundcard then get it. QUOTE(BlackWoods @ Oct 8 2013, 10:43 AM) Any good recommendations for headset within RM200~RM350 budget? If you've been reading the previous few pages, the recommendation under the RM200 budget is to get a headphone (Superlux HD681 Evo) and stand-alone mic.The Siberia is a little over budget so I'm not getting it so soon. But if you absolutely require a headset, Logitech G230 isn't entirely trash... given that its price is only RM200 and it isn't the typical bass bloat or ear piercing trebles. Though, don't expect any miracles from it as the cheaper HD681 Evo is still heaps better. |

hi guys, can anyone give suggestions for a good wireless headset? right now i'm stuck between the Logitech G930 and the turtlebeach XP series. (astro's are way too expensive) and skullcandy doesnt sell their gaming models here. any suggestions?
p.s. would definitely prefer headsets that can work with all platforms, but will mainly be used for PC This post has been edited by Kai1492: Oct 8 2013, 11:54 AM |

After stalking this thread for quite some time, I've bought HD681 EVO from lowyatian here.
I can say that the gaming headset that I'm using are not match for this headphone (even without "burn in" the headphone all all) Maybe it will get better over time (read about 50hr burn in for this headphone) Is it normal for headphone without any volume adjuster? Abit troublesome And the provided cable (1m and 3m) one is too short while another one is too long for me. Now I know why people willing to spend over 1k for headphone. Cheers |

i have no problem with the volume and cable. i sit infront of the PC/lappie, use the short one. TV use the long one. there's no need to spend 1k just for those simple stuff. even 1k headphone also no volume adjuster.

Logitech G930 user reporting in.
Well, I can say the headset is good but RM599 for it is seriously overpriced. But, the sound quality is good, the built quality is acceptable, just....RM600 is...a bit over. |

QUOTE(oRoXoRo @ Oct 10 2013, 11:22 PM) After stalking this thread for quite some time, I've bought HD681 EVO from lowyatian here. I've never believed in burn-in as I think it is a myth. What is actually burning-in isn't the headphone, it is your brain and ears getting used to the sound signature of the new headphone. Manufacturers usually say "allow for xx hours to burn-in" simply because by then, most of the time the consumer would have already adjusted and start liking the headphone for what it is.I can say that the gaming headset that I'm using are not match for this headphone (even without "burn in" the headphone all all) Maybe it will get better over time (read about 50hr burn in for this headphone) Is it normal for headphone without any volume adjuster? Abit troublesome And the provided cable (1m and 3m) one is too short while another one is too long for me. Now I know why people willing to spend over 1k for headphone. Cheers But in reality, the headphone doesn't change (if it did, it's very negligible) from when they are opened out of the box day 1 and 6 months later. The only thing that will physically change is the comfort, the clamping pressure might have eased a little bit and the earpads may have soften. Volume adjusters adds impedance to a cable, which means it'll further downgrade audio quality. This is why majority of headphones do not have in-line volume adjusters. I assume you are connecting your HD681 Evo to your PC directly, you can download AutoHotKey and set up a few scripts so you can bind the volume controls to your keyboard when you're playing, watching or listening. As for the cable, you can always buy a custom length cable from a few custom cable makers on the forum. BlackOctagon for example makes them, just PM him and get his recommendation. |

Anyone got any good headset to introduce ? The only requirement that I need is :
-Using USB cable ( because my laptop only has one sound plug ) -Has a good microphone ( to communicate with my friends when gaming without much background noises / keyboard typing sound ) Budget under RM150 if situation allows. I don't need too expensive headset. |
