nope.
if want to get ath just get A/AD/W/L lah...
others series like M... dont know for what.
*
M series are mostly monitoring headphones....

although some have said they do quite well for gaming.

but the A series are still the preferred ones as theyre closed so u get isolation....and the soundstage on the A series can even kick some open headphones' ass.

lets just say that for gaming (and i mean gaming only)...

my A500 + A2ZS can almost rival my DT990+FubarII+HeadAmp in termss of soundstage

almost. the DT990 still spanks the A500 though.

but for a mid-range closed can to be able to get close to a flagship open can like the DT990 id say its pretty damn good already.

Anyway, what makes 'gaming' headsets stand out?
*
the word "gaming"

it makes gamers whos not in the know drool over them....especially the brand fanboys

QUOTE(C-Note @ Sep 25 2009, 03:20 AM)

Ain't those should be in Audiophile? This is gaming headset tongue.gif

my gaming headphones are audiophile headphones tongue.gif

QUOTE(Everdying @ Dec 17 2009, 01:16 PM)
5.1 is 5.1.
just that gaming headsets are 'optimized' for frequencies related to gunshots, footsteps etc.
ie. more mids, less bass.
*
what most headphiles has agreed on as the best gaming headphone happens to be one of the bassiest headphone around... which is the Beyerdynamic DT770pro/80. next in line would be the even more bassier DT770 '05.... the bass is good for explosions... but of course, the bass isnt the only deciding factor. these headphones has superb sound positioning, controlled bass, clear details and wide soundstage. provided these 2 headphones are properly amped.

unamped, the Audio Technica A900, which isnt so bass heavy, is considered the best...2nd only to those 2.

but theyre all closed headphones... not many people want open cans as gaming headphones as they dont want sound leaking in and they want the isolation. so open headphones arent really ranked that much when it comes to gaming, though they still work extremely well...like my DT990, which is also bass heavy laugh.gif

depends i guess... my DT990 though bass heavy, still can hear footsteps in COD4. most of these headphones has good sound seperation...so that they dont drown out the footsteps...especially if the explosion is on ur left and footsteps are on ur right...

havent played CS in a long while so dont really know about that one...

the best place for us to buy Audio Technica headphones is from bluetin.com which is based in singapore

some are even cheaper than buying from local distro.

amazon.com as far as i know dont ship electronics to malaysia....

i know coz i tried ordering the dt990 on it once and they wont ship here.

as for tax....buying from bluetin and paying tax is still cheaper than buying locally.

toooooooooooo much for cod4 already laugh.gif
in fact using A500 also find it very very nice and crisp footstep in cod4.
price not bad summore laugh.gif
*
yeah...A500 is awesome for gaming....

but i tend to snipe alot.. and between the DT990 and A500... the sniper rifles sound ALOT better on the DT990 setup....and they sound very different on both headphones... its as if im using different rifles even though theyre the same ones....especially the 50cal and the bolt rifles

btw, my first audiophile headphone! icon_rolleyes.gif
Philips SHP2500 + an amp!
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

good headphones....my first headphone that influenced me to get into more serious hardware....

but hate to burst ur bubble....it doesnt even come close to being "audiophile" imho. sound is kinda thin and lacks body. soundstage, though decent, is still pretty forward and narrow. i think the SHP2700 would be a better buy even without amp.

and u should pair it with a PA2V2 amp....works wonders when i paired mine with A2ZS + SHP2500 + PA2V2...since the PA2V2 is a somewhat bassy amp...it helped give more body to the sound. and the sound improved significantly

the price of AD700 should not exceed RM350++, if not it's counted as expensive.
price quoted from one of those tumpang thread in BO.
*
blink.gif where did u get that price for AD700??

A500 oso around 400+...and thats not from distro... from distro even worse the price....
