I was reading up on clone golf sets like gigagolf and pinemeadow..looks pretty good. Maybe can consider that instead of 2nd hand as the prices are quite cheap even after shipping to Malaysia. Just need to confirm the taxes charged by customs

Hi ricowj, clone golf sets are an option but I think many prefer the security and performance that authentic branded golf clubs bring. As you know, most club parts are manufactured in China so it's not difficult to clone sets from the popular brands, but the QC is obviously of a different level. smile.gif

Hi fer0, OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. The issue is, although much cheaper, the fact that a majority of OEM clubs are counterfeits. Counterfeiting actually started in Taiwan, when staff working at the China manufacturers sold designs to other factories. Who wouldn't? You only get a wage of a few US Dollars per hour, but you sell the designs and make tens of thousands? But now most of the counterfeit clubs comes from China after the Taiwanese government started enforcing intellectual-property laws and labour costs in Taiwan went up compared to China’s.

Manufacturers who produce original clubs have strict agreements not to pawn off designs or sell as OEMs, naturally. So where do these OEM clubs come from? And how do you ensure that the OEM clubs are as close to the original as possible? As a golfer you can tell the difference between a clone and an original when you swing the club.

So if you've got no qualms about investing in clone clubs, you can consider those products. We try not to discriminate because as they say, everyone has different budgets and different needs. But we at GolfLah make a lot of effort to make sure that the clubs we source are authentic.

Where do we get all our high quality used and like-new branded clubs? With such an attractive value proposition, that’s a natural question. We want you to rest assured and have full confidence that any clubs bought from GolfLah.com are 100% authentic, accurate in presentation (we make sure that our pictures are exactly what you are getting) and full value for money. Hence, we only source our clubs from the most trusted sources, including closeout stock from manufacturers, surplus demo units, or certified trade-in channels. Most of our stock is imported from USA, so while it is more expensive to source and bring to Malaysia (as compared to cheap OEMs from Alibaba.com) we can guarantee the authenticity of the clubs.

Do visit our online store at Facebook.com/GolfLah, and consider Liking our page for product & promotion updates.

Hi Din, our product team will get in touch with you shortly. smile.gif And since you're starting off with golf we'd like to recommend you a few videos to watch on how to start off building your swing. Start off with the basics, from our favourite teacher Mr Shawn Clement:

Posture & Address
Another video about posture and grip
Hitting the ball is not your job!

Shawn is a good teacher, very descriptive, and his swing mechanics are very easy on beginners and helps prevent injuries early on in your golf career (obviously because you'll avoid the dreaded 'cangkul' that really hurts your shoulder and arm).

There are plenty of used golf shops in KV. The best is the one at the driving range in Taman Cuepecs, Cheras. Can call the boss Jack 019-2538521 Golf Connection. You can test out the clubs immediately at the range.
