Posted this in other forum, thought I'd share it here too. smile.gif

Here are some pics of the new Standard 2008 in Heritage SunBurst/CherryBurst

Fresh out from the case. I love the smell of new guitars...although not as strong as the LP VintageMahogany.

Highly polished maple top...very very glossy. The frets are Plek'd which is nice.

Gold plated Bourn pots, can't see here but it's definitely plated.

LP 2008 Standard and the LP 2008 VintageMahogany.

I could not review much here as I've only got it. But anyway here are some highlights I've felt after having it a go at both last night.
In comparison to the VM 50's neck, the Standard's asymmetrical neck is pretty nice, subtle but comfortable. There is nice thick grip at the top and subtle taper at the lower end. Pickups are the same on both the LPs (Burstbucker Pros) although the VM is slightly darker due to the all mahogany top/body. Standard is slightly heavier eventhough both are chambered, possibly due to the extra finishing.

Here are some pics biggrin.gif

hmm u got that shipped over right?
im very fussy with maple tops, so if i had a top like that i wouldnt take it tongue.gif

its still a nice guitar, but my choice would be for the LP traditional.
still plek, but with '57 classic humbuckers instead and traditional pots.

It's nice that they added Straploks and Locking tuners.
Not sure if they hollowed out TOO much with the chambered body though.
Congrats on a drop dead sexy guitar mate!

Nice flames going on there! So the assymetrical neck is cool? Haven't tried something like that before

btw, I tested the axcess LP FR and it is one of the worst guitars out there. The sustain sucks big time. Really reminded me of a cheap Ibanez. Worst part is the price. I think it's going for USD3k.

But I'm looking forward to test out the Robot LP though. Getting lazy to tuning and retuning those Klusons tongue.gif

I'm in uk at the moment, so there are plenty of stocks about. Although I got mine at the 'old' price before the price hike which added extra £200 to the tag.

The chambered body adds some nice resonance to it. You should try one. smile.gif

blademaster: lucky you, I'd hope to get a chance to try the LP axcess. Where did you check it out?
