Not that they are not good deals for entry level instruments but Gio series need a bit of setup and breaking in to sound and feel good.. and you might want to go for either the double locking trems or fixed bridge models as you might have trouble keeping the normal tremolo bridges in tune..

save up a lil bit more, and go for ibanez RG321, easy and simple smile.gif
plus, with a lil mod, it can be a vital rig for u. locking tuners, dimarzio pickups on both position, and heavier string gauge biggrin.gif

i think you should get something with a fixed bridge, less hassle since those low end models have horrible trems

What you should save up for is the RG Series, since the models you listed are all based on the RG anyway.
It's just a little bit more expensive, but PM Dead Eye and you might get a good price out of it.

Added on December 5, 2008, 10:32 amI added choon hon's Ibanez question in this thread.

I now officially dedicate this thread to all things Ibanez.

Keep it to Ibanez talk please.

Yes, the RG series is everywhere........ but there must be a reason why it's so popular, right?

Most of the models, even the lower end ones, has a great build for both rhythm and soloing stuff. The only problem is that the trems (ESPECIALLY the Edge3) don't hold up too well with lots of abuse. They are good trems, but you really have to take care of it.
Best solution? Get one with a string-thru option.

Ibanez guitars are made to be very much a player's guitar. You can abuse or trash 'em, but they just keep on working... and they are the most technically advanced guitar you can find for very little money. Just look at the various trem, neck, pickup, finish and body designs they have brought up over the past 30 years.. wink.gif

It's a high mid range guitar in the S series, get it if you are looking for mahogany tone with short scale warmth...

Yeah try to avoid GIO series as i had them before...try getting a rg350dx or rg370dx (both are similar). Though its priced at 1.4k-1.6k but its a good investment.
