Mind sharing your experience from Zhuhai to Shenzhen? Via bus?

And is there anything interesting in Zhuhai?

I'm planning my HK/MCU/SZ trip for this coming April, just wondering whether I should skip Zhuhai and Guangzhou.

Thanks~

hmmm,
Zhu Hai was just okok to me.
but no matter where u are going,
just beware of pick pockets and con man la.

to me, im a person who loves theme parks and extreme things la.
in my way of opinion,
Zhu Hai is more about visiting places and just watching those night shows.
not porn la. just like those stunt shows.

its adviseable not to skip because,
travelling is all about at least visit that place once and look at their lifestyle, culture etc.
although its a bad review from me regarding to my china trip,
but everything u just gotta encouter it yourself smile.gif

ur trip for coming April is just exactly the same as mine las year. smile.gif

I haven't been to Dong meng although originally my booked hotel is there... blush.gif last minute changed as I reached Shenzhen pretty late blush.gif So no idea on that walking street. From my experience at Guangzhou Beijing Lu (Also a long pedestrian street shopping district & Zhuhai Lan Hua Lu, really dissapointed wth the shopping offerings....ladis, fashions, shoes & keeps on repeating from shops to shops...U hardly find any souvenirs, electronics there.. sad.gif ...The border mall at Shenzhen atleast hv mixture of everything...electronics, food, ladies, teas & etc biggrin.gif

My suggestion since u are having so many days:

1st day - Get a reasonable hotel in Macau..probably contact the same guy that I pmed u b4 (But dun choose the New Century hotel in Taipa island (Pretty far from Macau Peninsular) Get those hotels closer to Senado square & etc

2nd Day: Continue sight seeing in Macau (Spend more time out of the historic enclave..probably to Ah Ma temple, Maritime Museum or even take a Public bus to Taipa/ Colloane island...ehhhh now already becoming one after they built the Venetian Casino in the middle of the strait biggrin.gif

end of 2nd day...Check-in to Yong Tong Hotel (RMB230 - on top of Zhuhai bus terminal/ KFC) or the closer to the border (Jingye hotel (RMB190)...shop till u drop at the underground Gongbei gigantic Landmark shopping complex. thereafter continue to Lian Hua lu..street shoppings..lotsa ladies & fashion related stalls here..(~2Km long & 1 big loop back to Gongbei border....be prepared for leg cramped!)

3rd day..probably take a taxi or local bus to the the lady of the sea statue & also the sea park along Zhuhai..Thereafter check-out & buy afternoon bus ticket to Guangzhou (Super VIP bus =RMB75) - 2.5hr to Guangzhou Tianhe bus terminal (i.e opposite the gigantic Tianhe stadium) ..U can either look for hotel around this biz district & thereafter continue to shop at the Teemall & adjacent Granview mall (One of the largest in the world - for me smaller than Sunway Pyramid hmm.gif )

4th day....take the super efficient Guangzhiu underground MRT to all the tourist attractions in Guangzhou such as Chan Clan House, The emperor museum & the famous park opposite the museum, Guangzhou Pagoda, Guangzhou mosque, & must not be miss the Beijing Lu shopping...If more time, probably another MRT ride down South to Updown 9 road (San Sia Chiew Lu) shopping street, Collonial island of Guangzhou

End of 4th day - take the MRT directly to the Guangzhou East railway station (There are 2 railway stations so pls dun confuse - This East one going to Shenzhen. The main station goes to other part of China) - 1hr to Shenzhen & experience the 200km/hr ride on the speed train that pawned our ERL! biggrin.gif Check-in to Railway station hotel on top of the railway station itself (RMB200/nite). Shopping at the opposite but joined border shopping complex..

5th day - Take the shenzhen MRT to Window of the world/Splendid china or even shopping at Dong Men street. Mid of 5th day cross over to Hong Kong Stop at Mongkok station & - SHop at Lady /Tung Choi st (They opened Mid-day till late at nite), Probably check-in to your hotel at Mongkok (Chk recommendation in HK thread). Goto Temple st for nite shopping

6th day - Check-out & take the MTR to the Tsim Tsa Sui east station...and visit the Arena of Star (Something like the Hollywood walk of fame...take lotsa picture & spot all your famous actors & actresses feet/hand prints!...See the whole Hong Kong island from the arena of Star. Mid day, goto the Peak at Hong Kong Island & view Hong Kong from the top of the peak. Evening - take the ferry to Macau & check-in to New Century Hotel (~2km from Airport)

7th day-- Bye-bye to Pearl River Delta

For me, I will not take the risk..better stay in Macau on the last nite rather than rushing to the Macau airport from HK

Will It Be Risky If Walk-In Without Booking?

Tourism info is lacking in China compare to HK & Macau. Yes do more research & survey.

Check this website. http://www.chinahotel.com.cn/ It's up to you to book, bcos I did book using them on Dong Men hotel at Shenzhen but I FFK that nite. instead of going to Dong Men, I decided to walk-in to railway hotel. (Hehe..they don't insist on deposit or full payment!

Boyz..I got reminder & warning from them after I came bck!
