I just got my Iphone 3G. Loving every minute of it biggrin.gif but there's a big problem. My Wifi can connect to starbucks - no prob. But i cannot connect to my home's streamyx. I'm using a Aztech WL730RT4 router. My phone can connect to the wifi - but i cant online. Whenever i use Safari to online the following msg pops up "Safari cant connect because you dont have an Internet connection", even tho the wireless symbol is there. I went into the iphone setting and saw that the IP address under the DHCP setting the ip address starts with the following ip add '169.254.xxx.xxx'. is this normal? anyone has any ideas??????? thanks a lot.

Yes. Recently apple products have a propensity to "dislike" the WEP network setting

bro. did u tried to put static ip for ur iphone? my n95 also the same. need static ip in order to surf the network. I believe most of the PC users obtain the IP automatically.

For example:
Ip address: 192.168.1.XXX (ur iphone IP. Duplication IP address is not allowed. Will crash the network)
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1 (this is pointing to ur router)

DNS server: 202.188.1.5
Alt DNS server: 202.188.0.133 (This DNS server is streamyx ip address. you can change either way)

This is just an example to set up a static IP address. Some router start with 10.0.0.2 or 192.168.2.1 and so on. No matter wat router ip just put the correct one tat ur ip showed.

To get ur router IP. Use ur windows Start-->Run-->Type cmd then press enter-->Type ipconfig/all then press enter. There u can see ur ip address.

Cheers. Hope that helps. smile.gif

Agree with tauevo. I'm online with my streamyx using static ip. It never fails.
