I am looking for a new TV, looks like 42' full HD still quite expensive in the 4k range and HD Ready is in 3k range. but them i come across a display set samsung 43' 1080i DLP which is only RM 1599, is it worth it to buy a DLP at this price? also is there other place you guys have found still selling DLP? i am going to use it mainly to watch movie, maybe getting xbox 360 for gaming.

RM1,599 for a 43" is a steal, even more so since it's HD Ready nod.gif

Hi just to share,

DLP is sharper than LCD and Plasma and have better contrast ratio

DLP has 90% coverage compared with 3xLCD panel with only 70% coverage due to the pixel. DLP has smooth pixel.

Check out www.DLP.com

Also there is a new laser DLP tv by Mitsubishi which surpasses HD resolution.

Yes, normal DLP TV is slightly thicker but the laser TV is as thin as LCD and Plasma.

Thanks for sharing stinky, but TS said the DLP tv he refers to is cheaper (RM1599 to exact) than LCD and Plasma. I doubt that he is refering to laser dlp, if so i will buy that for all the room in the house even in the bathroom... tongue.gif

Yeah the laser TV is is for high end users and just launched recently.
In Malaysia i guess they just have the rear lamp ones. Even the LEDs one wont be sold here.

Its a pity since they are much cheaper than Plasma and LCD.
