Hey Guys and Girls out there!! Good news!! Great Event!!

This March 2009, there will be an E-Sport Tournament 09 (MMU OPEN) event that will be held in Multimedia University Cyberjaya.
For those hardcore gamers out there!! This is a chance and oppotunity to proof that you are the best gamer!
We welcome anyone from any state, any city, any race that is interested(even our fellow neighbour campus in Melacca) to come to our
MMU University Cyberjaya campus and play and win some valuable prizes(limited edition stuffs) and cash money. Woohoo!!!
The computers will be provided. So you just have to form a team and register. Then come to our campus and play!


Some of the additional information is as below:

Location : MMU Cyberjaya
Venue : FIT Lab
Date : 7th-8th March 2009
Time : 10a.m. - 5 p.m.

1. Counter Strike
2. FIFA 2009
3. Need For Speed Pro Street
4. Command & Conquer Kane's Wrath
5. Dota Allstars

There are only a limit of 32 teams per game.
The registration starts anytime, so hurry up and register while places are still available!!

Registration Fees : RM10/person

Please note that a full payment is needed to make a successful reservation for a team.

i hope that the organizer can change the fifa version to the latest fifa 09 since the event has been postpone.

Coz most of the hardcore fifa will be playing on d latest version.it will definitely effect the number of attendance if still use fifa 08 ^^

will be like last MMU open cs and fifa run together?
still remember need to wait for how many hours just to get into our first match as the game goes 2 by 2 per session

sorry guys, the main director said that if no deposit is given, he will not register u. then i think he also need to get ready the paypal thingy to let u all pay for participating. well, request is still pending from him.

Hi there, I will be the one that in charge of this tournament. These are some of the things that I need to clarify here:

1)Registration is on halt. No registration will be accepted until further notice.
2)Games involved are: FIFA09, C&C3 Kane's Wrath, DOTA, and CS.
3)No reservations will be accepted until you pay deposit. This is my way of organizing tournaments.
4)Prize list are yet to be confirmed. But cash prize is assured and they will be given on that day itself.
5)Tournament rules are still in discussions.
6)Tournament date will be around early April 2009.
7)It is a big event,it will be more than just a tournament. How big is that, P&C until I get the green light that I can give out the information to publics.

So, for the meanwhile, please be patience and wait for this big hit. =) And sorry for all the unanswered questions. Should you have further enquiries, please do not hesitate to drop me an email. Thanks for all the support!

MMU students are in their 2nd week of holidays mah, so you can expect the replies coming a bit slow.
Also, CNY coming soon.

i really hope they can change the pc layout in the lab. seriously the previous event, its awkward. u feel like playing cs in school while there is a teacher infront...

I don't think it's possible, because the labs are wired that way which mean you can't really turn the tables around. But if i'm wrong, why not eh?

OOO yeah FIFA09!! I wanna join! But what do you mean we need to have a team for that? I thought FIFA is an individual game, or at least it has been? Unless u guys are playing the cooperative mode

Further clarification from me:

1) Confirmed game list:
1. DOTA: Allstars (version still in discussion, but most of the times we will use the latest map, so prepare for it.)
2. Counter Strike 1.6
3. Need for Speed: Pro Street
4. Command & Conquer 3: Kanes Wrath
5. FIFA 09

2) Registration starts 9th Feb 2009
3) Preliminary round will be on 7th - 8th March 2009
4) Grand Finale will be on 10th April 2009. The reason why we seperate the tournament into 2 parts will be explained in a new post.
5) A new post by me will up after Chinese New Year, probably next week, to give the people that are interested to know more about this event, more in depth details.
The new thread shall be active, and this will turns inactive as I will not update this thread.
6) Preliminary will runs in FIT Labs as usual, Grand Finale will runs in MMU Grand Hall, Cyberjaya. PC units will be sponsored by AMD.
7) ALOT events will run on 10th - 12 April 2009, more information from Game Developers' Club (GDC) will be updated soon(probaly next week or the week after next).

hmmm.. i tot that MMU got so high Tech pc.. since they studying multimedia which require csphotoshop, cad, and all.. but unable support COD4? guys i hope u can reconsider putting cod4 in the list. im sorry if sounds kinda rude at first.. but if u put up cod4 on the list of game. i bet MMU will get high publicity. moreover the cod4 community will come over and register for this tourney. some of us would love to help to be the marshall for the cod4 and setting rules and mods for the game. do consider.
