RM3K can buy a laptop already, quite expensive. So this phone will be released b4 or after CNY?

One question about the size of this phone, which's 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9-18.3 mm, what does it mean by 15.9-18.3 mm? U think this phone is too big?

I think when N97 launchs the price will be insanely high, somewhere around RM3500-RM4000, since tube already costs RM2k. Better wait a bit and let the price down if u r interested to buy.

It just stated that N97 will cost about 550 euros (RM2,500), but never stated the price when launch in Malaysia.

my cousin works for nokia and he squeezed out these informations about N97 for me:

1. It runs with 192 Mb RAM & ARM13 476MHz processor.
2. It runs as the fastest Nokia symbian when u keep at least 4GB of its internal memory free and use no mem card.
3. it has a dedicated music chip and 3D graphics accilarator.
4. it's loup sp. and headphone sound quality is in line with N91 & they are still improving it.
5. it has USB charger.
6. the softwares for its & 5800's OS is still on with the developers.
7. it'll come boxed with configuaration to directly download FLV content from any webpage.

Someone posted it at gsmarena, don't know trustable or not. So u think it's good if what he said is true?

Assuming the launching price for N97 won't be cheap(around RM3K), how long do u think the high price of N97 can hold? I'm aiming at this phone but it's still a long way to wait and expensive too, if the price won't drop too quick might consider to get.

But that kind of phone Nokia will always launched above 3k and above. Maybe retail price will be 3399 like N96.

I thought the official retail price of N97 is 550 Euro, which's about RM2500, I don't understand why the price can mark up so much. Maybe AP set can get much cheaper, RM3399 is too much for a phone, I rather use that money to get laptop instead.

I believe the optimum pricing would be RM2899 during introductory stage and then slowly settle down at RM2499. Don't think it is worth RM3399 which is overpriced. This price range can only be held by a PDA phone which S60 devices aren't even though they are touch capable. So we need to thank HTC for spoiling the market. Hehehe!

For RM3399 I don't think it can stay long when N97 is launched, it might last few days. Good example is 5800, last 2 weeks ago(if I'm not mistaken) I went to Sungai Wang and look for the price of this phone, and got one shop in front of the SW's entrance got the phone at that day, they offered RM2k. And compare with the price now, RM1.5 can get already. To settle down to RM2499 how long will it take? Wait until Xmas next year? whistling.gif

nokia were asking u to try out 5800 1st ma, so can earn your money again when n97 release. lol

I feel like 5800 is a À la carte and the N97 will be the main course, so must control myself not to try the À la carte. whistling.gif

Due for release on 31/03/2009, won't be too late if the release date is correct.
