Somehow I have the same thought on Nokia's current 4-digit naming of their devices.

see, it's not just me. i believe there would be a fraction of people thought of this. it's time for nokia to change.

four digit model number has its good benefit also, a lot of new model can utilise it instead of two digit number

I played with the display model (8800) before and I think the price justify the solid feel, material and the well engineered sliding mechanism. You are paying for good physical design. Some people prefer those. Feature-wise, it wasn't such a bad phone either.

Anyway, would have more colours. I personally like white one better but I think it could pull off with more funky colours like NDS or PSP..

Nokia should exceptionally change tagline for E71 from "Connecting People" to "Genius Phone for the Genius User".

not every rich ppl using cheapoo phone, some of them too many money and trendy person also buy high end phone, but majority of them only use for phone call & sms.. they get tat phone just for show off (a very good example is my ex-boss wife, the max duration to hold a new high-end phone is around 2 months only )

Cos this is a E71 phone discussion and I am a E71 user, so..... *drumroll* ..... only us, here are genius who deserve a genius phone like E71....
