To prolong battery life, I suggest you put the homescreen content to offline mode. Keeping 3G on all the time is what eats up battery life fast.NOKIA N97!, Nokia New Flagship Smartphone

QUOTE(jpaq @ Jul 9 2009, 02:49 PM) The firmware is a malaysian version (check available languages and you should see "Melayu" language option there), its just tat its no more the "custom version" where you get the star reader and the sin chew paper widgets. This same shit happened to me when I first complained about the slider lock issue. They say try a re-flash firmware? I said ok. See see no more custom version firmware liao. I complained about this too. They said come back when got newer firmware as what they flashed for me was the latest they had!!!!! I could get the Star widget from Ovi Store. PM me with email and I see if I can email u.So later they called me to go back. New firmware is here. I said ok. Flashed to v11 and still no custom version and no star reader and sin chew widgets! I din bother to complain after that cos' its obvious that even the NCC dun have the custom version firmware for some reason. I din bother too as the widgets were not important to me. As far as I can tell, everything else is the same except for the missing widgets. And yes, I tried searching for the star reader widget in the phone's ovi store and I can't connect to it too. I tried getting it from the ovi store website through the PC and it says that the widget is no longer available. Go figure. So, mannquin, if you really really want the star reader widget and you no longer can get it anywhere else, go make a fuss at the NCC. Bang tables if you have too. Serve them right anyway. But if, like me, it doesn't bother you, then dun worry about it and enjoy the phone. It should still be a Malaysian version, its just not the custom version firmware. As far as I can tell, only the 2 widgets are missing and everything else is the same. There are 2 types of firmware for Malaysia and some other countries (CV and non-CV) out there apparently, from listings of firmware updates that I have seen on various sites, forums and blogs. Anyway, just check the languages option like I said and you'll know. |
