slander and libel

slander is in verbal form think of it as speech
libel as in written think of it as poison pen

privilege e.g. our mps got privelege against such law suit in dewan rakyat

edit not negligence shuld be no knowledge
made in good faith

defamation act is a restriction towards the freedom of speech, assembly and association.

from wad i understand is defamation act is to secure individuals from affecting that individual's reputation.
let say, now the newspaper company haf the freedom of speech and w/o this defamation act, they would create chaos and would write anything w/o mercy.....[something like tat la]
