thinner will only remove the tempo (decals and vinyls printed on the body), the base paint cannot be removed using thinner. for example, i removed the tempo on a truck's box using thinner:

err, actually i dont do any modelling before this. i just do die cast modding, and started only a month ago.

yes the paint remover will hurt plastic parts, thats why you need to drill the base and remove the rivets. so you can separate the plastic parts from metal parts.

haha thanks guys. well im earning a bit of side income to fuel this hobby out of the mods, that is true. but im not into this full time yet.
