 Samsung 32" LCD TV unable connect laptop, using pc input, VGA cable

hi guys, wondering any of u can help here, fyi bought samsung lcd tv, connected to laptop, tried changing display setting, however when plug in via VGA press on samsung remote control 'source' button, nothing shown under 'pc' mode. wondering is this faulty unit??

help appreciated from all sifus...

From laptop, did you extend/enable 2nd monitor use?

Display Properties > Settings

hi there, yupyup tried use 'monitor 2', extend to it by function + F8 key (dell laptop), however laptop no display, when source for pc mode using remote failed. cannot choose 'pc' using remote, seems no function.

i got the same problem. i connect a compaq laptop to the toshiba regza av550e. no display even set the 2nd display to monitor in the intel display clone. i read the tv manual and it said not all laptops are supported.

resolution setting on ur laptop , sometimes too high for ur laptop to display on lcdtv 32" but if thats the case , at tv will come out msg mode not supported , im using 32" samsung as well, so far no problem connecting laptop to it for display.

I got the same problem like your problem. I did as well like you did. Have you got the solution ? Please share... What I should do.

never try with laptop but with pc yes...u must change ur setting to setting that lcd tv support if not screen will be black..like nothing happen...

edit: when u change setting change it without connected to lcd tv first...

change it to resolution lower than 1366x768.

Cable Specs:
Use 14 Pinned BAFO VGA Cable. ( Male to Male)
The Second Row 4th Pin will be disabled as shown in Pic below.

BAFO is a Brand Name, similarly you can try Vessa, IBM too..
Do not use localy made HD 15 or DE 15 cable, it does not work.

How to Connect:
1) Connect the VGA cable to your Laptop ( Switched On) and to your TV ( Switched Off ) ( Only for the first time).
2) Switch on your TV.
3) Press Source, PC will be auto detected, the TV screen will be blank
4) Right Click on your comp, go to Graphic Properties, (You will see multiple Display enabled , select Twin Radio Button.
5) Keep Your Primary as Note Book and Secondary as Laptop. Apply the settings.
6)Press Function + f4 in your Laptop
7) There you are , your TV and Laptop are synced
