just curious here, i wanna know u guys usually play what difficulty in video games..

i chose easy coz i'm a noob when it comes to gaming..
if i have no choice will stick to default which is usually normal..=)

hmm...usually i'll go for the default one...
n it depends on the game i'm playing as well...if i'm used to the genre..den i'll go for normal, if not den i'll go for easy...

Usually I'll go on normal for the first playthrough, then gradually move up the difficulty in the next playthrough.

Playing hard on Fire Emblem or Advance Wars games in the first playthrough is just plain suicide.

First time playthrough will always use normal.

8 years ago I might have multiple playthrough on increasing difficulties. Having a job stops me from doing that anymore

choose easy will spoil the fun of the game, so I will choose normal, if play 2nd time, then choose hard.

Games like Rainbow Six: Vegas I love to play on 'Realistic'... in fact all my Rainbow Six series I always play above normal.

But RTS games I will play normal.. sometimes play easy. Cos I'm not good in RTS

1st play thru I would choose Normal.
2nd play thru Hard.

Normal. I just like simple game play. if too difficult, i will abandon the game.

first run i'll choose "normal" since i believe that this is the difficulty the developers meant the game for.

second run depends la. sometimes the hardest, sometimes easier (to get more of the story).

honestly, i choose easy/casual.. playing just for fun.

For me, it depends.

Most games, i start at normal... unless driving sims, i always choose the hardest, as they are the most realistic.

So... is there an option where i can pick "Depending on the game" ?

step by step easy > normal > hard mode..

i will choose easy gameplay.. especially its so stress after work.

I go for normal first, to extend replayability. This way I get another reason to replay the game. Easy just makes the game a bore.

Any difficulties is suitable for different type of gamers. Some like it easy as they just want to kill their time and other want some challenge.


i LOL'd at people who think "play game below Normal are for losers". The developer put several difficulties there for a reason...to make the game appealing to all type of gamers.

Game difficulty for me depends on the game.
If its a one player game such as Adventure, FPS or 3rd Person I play on Normal e.g. Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, God of War and e.t.c

Other than that I play on the highest difficulty. i.e. Fifa, PES, NFS, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and e.t.c

start with normal. if play again, hard, and so on

I replay games again with higher difficulties, but usually with 'normal' mode for the first time

Normal for me. But the game hv high replay value, will play with hard difficulty the 2nd time.

Normal/ Medium for me for first play through..

first play through always on normal mode, me don’t like to play on hard mode, but for some reason me need to play on hard mode just for the trophies

im now playing killzone 2 on easy mode to get the Untouchable trophy (complete the game without dying).. n after that i will play the elite mode.

Normally, I go for easy first before normal..

For me, it depends on type of game. But for non-kiddie games, I'm a wuss and always start with Easy

If kiddie game, I go macho and start on Difficult

For Major Minor tho, I start that one on Easy because it forces me to choose Easy first, gradually unlocking harder modes as you complete the last. And I'm glad it did, even in Easy mode I get pwned often due to my poor stamina

i'm on normal mode always..just to get the hang of it..then after completing the game, i'd try Hard Mode.but that depends on the type of game and whether my interest to continue playing is there.

Before the introduction of game achievement system such as the Xbox 360, i normally just play on default setting, most probably will not touch the game again after the first playthrough. Now... i study the achievement list even before i unseal the game, try to beat the game on the hardest difficulty during first playthrough (some games) just for the sake of unlocking the game achievements... Gaming has never been so frustrating before, but watching the unlocked achievements pop up on screen is sweet... damn...

Yeah yeah, try to get Shikigami no Shiro 3/DDP BLEX achievement if you can

i play hard just for trophy sake

i would play medium first... then, if i have finished the game i will switch to the hard one... hehehe...

I used to play easy when I first played the game, but then easy is too easy so i switch to Medium whenever i play a new game. But for football game, i will play World-Class

Guitar Hero/Rock Band(any instrument) - Expert
Call of Duty SP campaigns - Hardened(Veteran is lolimpossible for me)
Most hack 'n slash beat 'em up style games - Normal
Dante's Inferno - Infernal \m/
In the Groove 2/Stepmania/DDR - Expert, Hard, depends I could do like 10 footers
(Super)Street Fighter 4 - Normal(give me time to practice srsbsns I could play on Normal Hard in a while)

Yeah based around that you can tell how I'd fare on other similar games.

the game title Wanted does not have easy.. but they have ***** Diificulty

NORMAL mode for starters. Then once completed the game, will kick a notch higher to HARD mode. There are certain games whereby I went for EXPERT mode, depends how badly I want from it.

By the way, just finished ELITE difficulty on Killzone 3 in one day. Lolololoz. Thinking to platinum-ed this game...

I normally pick Normal, coz I dun wanna be so stress playing game nor playing not challenging game. lol. It is just a game afterall. lol.

seriously i would choose the very easiest for my game.
i have a lot of games not finished. doesn't want to be stuck, and no stress.

i will choose normal/default for all game except for football game

Normal for most games
Hard for shooters, especially reflex-type shooting and WRPG
Easy for JRPGS and those ******* games that rely on memorizing key points.
Highest difficulty available for sports game and wrestling

i've never played on hard mode on any games except football games..

When it comes to Racing games, I usually start off with Hard or Veteran

I started off with the 2nd most difficult difficulty in DiRT 3 and the most difficult difficulty in Need for Speed The Run and any other Need for Speed games

Either easy or normal

If no trophies related,i would just choose easy

Usually normal because it is the difficulty the game is designed for.

I prefer Hard because some games will unlock the most hardest difficulty after you completed Hard mode. If choosing normal I need to play through both Normal and Hard just to unlock the final difficulty mode. Also I like challenges, more rewards and satisfaction. This applies for all genre of games except Strategy.

for me normal mode 1st,then if got time try to play hard mode. :-)
