As for your Windows Vista ultimate and Office selling at cheaper price in Uni, that's actually Microsoft doing their bit for the education world as well. In US, doing so is also a type of marketing, to show that they actually contributed their part to the world, or to fulfill a certain quota by the government to do something for the country.
