that is the most stupid way, after the way using cigarette to burn it dead...
It will only make the leech vomit and it can make the wound even worst.

Best way is just let it suck until enough...it will stop automatically after few hours, but if u move excessively it will still bleed even after 1 day.

Usually if the bleeding non-stop (after u pulled the leech), mean the leech might have left something there. This usually happen when the leech not fully sucked. Can put ur leg at warm salt water, then try to sequeze it, see whether can get something out.

Offtopic: This remind me when I was scout, we was doing some activity in the river. We told to hang 1 of our member up and he must be in standing position. When the time he is standing at our hand, and I was at his back. I saw a "small black worm" go through inside his pants at the position of ass. I was like shocked shocking.gif Then we quickly remove his pants even though there are plenty of girls there. doh.gif

OnTopic: Do you will stop bleeding even it's not cause by leech? The best way to stop it is to...stop it. Put pressure ,plaster directly on the wound.

i think the reason why he asked how to stop bleeding is because he already biten by the leech and now cannot stop ...

maybe you should consult a doctor. smarter way

the bleeding can last to few hours up to a day...
healing is usually by a scar, with ithciness over the bite wound...

i had several over my body...
one which i always scratch...causing delay healing, while the rest heal quite well...leaving no obvious scar behind.

the most important is you keep the wound clean, and keep your fingers out from scratching it...
apply some skin lotion might help.

as for the bleeding, when the leech bite, it release some anti-coagulation like substance inthe the biting site, causing the blood unable to coagulate, thus continue to bleed...

well, the bleed will stop itself...but takes sometime..dun worry.
you have 5 liter inside your body...take it easy...

ya my legs still bleeding profusely AFTER i removed the leech... salt is to kill the leech, don't think can't stop the bleeding... no use using plaster also, blood will still come out rclxub.gif

i tried the ubat gamat (can buy a lot in Langkawi!) but NOT really sure unsure.gif the gamat heals the wound, COZ COZ i put it only after go back home, which by that time the blood almost dry up already...

Using salt to kill leech is a wrong technique I guess, I still remember some of my scout senior told me if you apply salt to leech, the leech will then "vomit" and pass some bacteria to your wound. I'm not sure this source is reliable.

I was always bite by leech when I was scout, and the wound heal after a minute or so. That's why I'm asking do you have problem for your blood to coagulate even it's not cause by leech. If it's then you better consult a doctor advise.

A drop of blood equal to a drop of sperm.
1) You may apply Salt to your wound, a bit painful can stop bleeding very fast
2) Press your wound and hold for 5 minutes, bleeding will stop after 5 miniutes and less painful. nod.gif

Try this...have spirulina, Chlorella or Green Barley handy. Make it into powder form and see your blood freeze up. But wash the wound 1st before applying

I'm a big fan of it. I use it myself of course. People with bleeding gum would find it very useful. But it is usually in tablet form except for Green barley which is in powder form. Chlorella easiest to get. Cosway got shop in shopping mall selling it. Or come to think of it, any pharmacy would sell those product.
