must it be specifically an electric violin?

if u're performing, just request for a wireless bodypack with a mic to go with your violin. ive played with quite a number of violinist before and thats the common thing thats done (if its just a solo or a few violinist, and not a whole orchestra ).

ya u said it correct echobrain project... i perform at Klang Parade and i juz used a bodypack wif tiny mic tat clips on ur violin..use cheap violin(rm 400 oni )hehe.. but my teacher use a electric violin(his belonging) to perform solo..
