I am in the midst of trying to arrange my media and ebook collection, but it very time comsuming, around 3TB after some using too much RS and torrent.mind sharing your technique how you arrange your files,so that it is easy to retrieve it later.I find that the window indexing service is quite slow.I tried Google desktop also, but it is RAM consuming.

arranging is easy.making the changes to the file names are hard.

just make individual folders

I use mediamonkey to organize my music files. It makes renaming files a breeze. It's quite RAM consuming though.

I usually use "batch renaming" to rename my files. I've got 2 X 1TB HDD's and one of them is almost full with my media (most of it are ".RAW" file format photos). Can't remember the program as I've stopped using it a long time ago. Just search "batch renaming".
