One of the greatest convinience shop is start selling games(Xbox 360,Playstation3) 24-7 in United States.
You think the 7-11 in Malaysia will selling these games like US?
If Malaysia 7-11 is selling these games,at least at midnight I can go there and buy a pack of rootbeer and a copy of Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 games! biggrin.gif

there's possibility of this happening, judging by the growth of the gaming market here in malaysia.

but the main obstacle is,

1. it will only be concentrated in klang valley to save their cost. but then since klang valley's user is only a few thousand ppl (maybe lesser), it's not feasible enuff financially for a huge corporation like that to do that in malaysia.

2. 7-11 in malaysia is a franchise owned by berjaya group. they may or may not have the same marketing strategy as the main 7-11 in the US.

3. games distributors here still do not have the support from publishers like they gave their US or Japanese counterparts. blame the middleman.

so yeah.. that's the scenario as i see it.

7-11 used to sell Magic: The Gathering products. it was easy to get packs to draft. but now no more. simply because malaysians do not buy that thing and most stores end up with lotsa old stocks. same thing can happen with videogames unless videogaming market itself is huge in malaysia.

I doubt it.

or else 7-11 will be a main target of next-Gen Robbers during night laugh.gif

and suddenly our WTS thread become very active with alot of cheap games on sale tongue.gif

Realistically, still not going to happen. it seem gaming is not the mainstream media in Malaysia yet for 7-11 to consider to sell games in their outlet

Not any time soon in Malaysia that's for sure. The 360 and PS3 community is still relatively too small for any convenient stores to risk selling games.

Haha, Ori Chrono Trigger DS in 7-11? Forget it. They can't even sell R4 there because all M'sia DS come "standard" with R4. Yea.... Malaysia market too tiny, and is flushed with pirated games.

If 7-11 is doing this, maybe in Damansara, Bangsar, Hartamas can do. Other place just forget it.

That's the first thing everyone had in mind when they see this thread, but it was to obvious to say it. whistling.gif

Jeez....... I guess I have to be the "waiting for weeks after the release date before getting his copy" ori DS gamer. It'll be a dream come true if I can buy the latest games by walking 10 minutes to the nearest 7-11. cry.gif

Takde lah! Sama saja dengan semua game DS yang saya beli. Kena telefon hari-hari "stock dah datang?" laugh.gif

The only game I ever get on the same date as the US launch is Pokemon Diamond. 7 train + 1 taxi + 1 bus rides + 8+hours + lots of anxiety + a friend (Phoenix_K1) = 1 really happy Pokemon player. happy.gif

The one at GH ah? biggrin.gif

Well, I read this news a few days ago. Was good to have it, but don't think it will be showing up in malaysia considering how much we believe Piracy is still a big problem here. If they scrape that mindset, we might have something going on.

I would be really embarrased if Djinn posted picture of me there, I'm acting like a 10 years old at that time. laugh.gif

Actually selling ori games is more profitable than promoting piracy in the long run in the sellers point of view. It's only a matter of time before of the majority of people download their pirate games rather than paying RM5 for it, thanks to most shops who promote cheapskateness among Malaysian gamers. >_>

change to Resistance 2 oredi...should be more tense...dunhill 16 cukup ker? laugh.gif

Added on November 29, 2008, 2:44 amIMO, buying original cannot be anymore convenience then...but other game shops such at GH, GS may suffer...unless they offer freebies or cheaper price...

Randy Pausch said:"If there is an elephant in the room, don't pretend it is not there, introduce it to ppl."
Wat i do is just say, "Look! There is an elephant!! shocking.gif " When ppl obviously see but pretend it is not there.

Sigh.... wat to do, like u, i am waiting also.... also hope i can walk to 7-11 and get my Chrono.
Even if i order from PlayAsia also have to wait for days.

Actually some local games retailers actually frowned at u if u ask for ori games.
I have went to a few shops asking for Chrono DS,
some of them don't know Chrono, some of them don't sell ori shocking.gif
tired of their blasphemous attitude towards this godly game notworthy.gif
will order from PlayAsia soon.

if they start selling, the chance of them getting robbed is higher. thus higher crime rates and malaysia will not be a safe place to live in anymore
