okay..
from my POV as a phone retailer since Jan 2008.was selling in LYN also before. im a dealer mainly from telstra(selling around 300++ unit phones from this company). asia mobile@ pacific(selling about 100++units).sumtimes got stock from nefion and BBS(rarely take stock from these 2,around 20 unit only).then after telstra i change to k.k tele(about 200++ units).then to GBS n Final choice(havent took any phone yet from these comp.will update after this).

experience with telstra

for me this company offers the cheapest price+longest warantty period (2 years for ic and mobo,1 year LCD and 3 month for charger, cable, keypad, buzzer n joystick n ribbon.take note only ic n mobo for 2 years!).telling the truth, they provide 1 to 1 exchange within 1 week(u can ask the seller to change if got major prob within 1 week).i ve done it 3 times.the key is request for change from ur seller if got major probs within a week, dont go to service centre at low yat plaza there! the telstra office is at jln ipoh.

-for charger n cable, they havent put the sticker on these things.so u can claim warantty even after 3 months.u can ask the seller to do that.i always change it after 3months if got request from my customer.

-dont buy phones that got tatto(02,VODAFONE,ORANGE,TIM).my experiance, phones that got tatto from o2 n vodafone gives u more problem.ORANGE n TIM quite ok lar.other thing to be alerted if u buy from this company, always check the charger when u buying from a telstra dealer.it is because the charger is oversea charger,u cannot plug into charging, because the difference in design.

-if u buy nokia from telstra, from my experiances,it gives u not much problem.even no prob at all.maybe sumtimes only got minor prob like the buzzer.if u go to service cntre there at low yat, they can fix within an hour. S.E got many probs, and always got probs, especially buzzer, joystick,n ic..n u have to be worried wit RECON set also.please check using the code (> * <<*<*)then press service test n press total call time.i also kena 5 times.very rugi ma.

-about service centre, the aunty there quite ok la.very slow voice.they dont need the warantty card if u send for service or repairing,n u need not to activate the warantty registration using sms like in the warantty card.they juz look for the waranty sticker.my experiances, they wont repair it for u,if they can detect any water trace in ur phone, even at ur backside keypad(the yellowish trace),n it even dont distrupt into the phone mobo or ic..so,please dont put ur phone inside your pants pocket as it result ur sweat going into ur phone! . normally for repairing it will take around 1-10 days to be fix, depend on the problem.

-my ratio is for 20 phones i take from this company,2 to 3 phones will have prob(minor defect or major defect) after 3 to 4 months.
experiance with other AP company

asia mobiles ->so far no probem, not even 1 phone i take from this company got problem.all working fine.except for the price is higher than Telstra.
k.k tele -> for me,very trustable.even it is a small company, they offer phones with imei on the box same with the phone, thus it will eliminate possibility of RECON or not ori accesories.price is higher than telstra but cheaper than asia mobiles on average.the warranty is 15 months.so far no defect unit reported.now they only focus on china phones n not selling AP anymore, but still give service for warantty claim.
BBS n Nefion-->cannot give any comment coz im rarely take phone from these co.but so far no prob i think.can be trusted.NEFION waranty is 12 months BBS is 15 @ 12 months if im not mistaken.

HOPE MY EXPERIENCE CAN HELP ALL FORUMERS!!  biggrin.gif

that's not weird language..
it's memang like that lah..

different region got different firmware (means different language also)
if u buy SE phone at Israel,  u'll get GENERIC firmware instead of APAC ANZ.. in that israel firmware, maybe you'll get israeli language, germany, and so on..

my C901 also have.. sundanese, javanese, malay and so on..  and it's Apac anz also..

Ori and AP of phone are not same as Ori Adidas vs Pasar Malam Adidas.
Ori adidas are made from ori adidas factory, while pasar malam adidas are ciplak or imitation, maybe from thailand. material and quality are not same..

for phones, both ori and ap are from SE factory, no imitations from other factory yet.. same problem, same firmware, same plastic, basically all same lah.. (but if your ap phone comes from different region say imported from israel or uk, higher chances you'll get a branded phone like "orange" "vodafone"  (have you seen phones with the tattoo?)
if you buy "ori" that doesnt mean your phone are problem free, and AP set also doesnt mean u buy problematic phone..

only the difference is the warranty, if buy "original" either you'll get warranty from thorus or midland.. which u can send to any SE authorized outlet for repair..

if you buy ap set from normal shop, you must send back the phone to that particular shop for free repair within warranty period.

As a N-series user, i choose AP set, and im not really look into AP set or Zitron set, i jz hope that im lucky enough to get a hand set in tip-top condition w/o any software defect and again hope la, these hand set wil last for few years b4 i sell/upgrade it, well guess wat? High-end phones owayz got minor defects, im jz conclude that mobile phone technology stil far away to meet my expectations. Stability? Mayb stil need few years to study..

for me, RM200, is not a huge diff la. i will pay that RM200 for the assurance that it will be the auth repair center that will handle any masalah, rather than some scary ap-distributor.

Hi, would like to ask, why is the price of original handphones differs between those selling online & shops?

For example, I can find Nokia 5800 with Avaxx warranty selling at RM1080 online, but when I visit shops in malls, their price is RM1299 firm. Both also originals with warranty, what's the difference?

Help?

if both also selling the same proper unit.. item is no different..
just depend on you, as a buyer, what kind of the service that you expect..everyshop need a certain margin to make them survive, if you appreciate thier service and the price you think is reasonable (actually how to judge reasonable tongue.gif ) you can go a head..
online selling = just sale, no service, no wasting time on sale talk, if you don't need after sales service, why not..
of course before you pay, make sure the item is correct and complete..

i surveyed at lowyat today on nokia 5730
some dealer offered me rm1130

but got one dealer offered me rm1300 and after i told the person about the previous offer

i think the person tried to scare me with the possibility that the previous offer might give me AP phone

do we just need to verify the IMEI number or there are still other technique to confirm the genuinity of the phone?
