I think this problem is because you've never defragmented your drive before. It happened to my 320GB HDD, but it took me 6 hours cause I've never formatted it before. Now, this is what I normally do, after I reformat I'll defragment and set Windows Defragmenter to defragment automatically.i took 11 to 12 hr and it still say defrag in progress...
