OMG nice to see people feeding raw to their fur kids locally. I'll check out this forum more closely. smile.gif hello happy to meet u all, i have a 6 months old husky. I just started feeding raw to him 2 days ago. but seems like hes craving for more food. I stick to the rule of 2% of his weight daily. should i feed him more or its just his old diet habit that will go off in time?

My understanding of these percentage rules is this:
Feed puppies 10% of their current weight.
When that 10% exceeds the 2% of their ideal weight, then switch to 2% of their ideal weight.
That said, understand that each dog will have different body and weight, so you can adjust accordingly.
These percentage rules are a guideline only, not hard rules.

Hi nice to see someone replied. Thank you very much. My puppy is 20kg now. If i fed 10% then i would be 2kg, thats a whole chicken :woot: lol. Ideal weight is 28kg and 2% is 560 or 600gms daily. I just fed him breakfast meal a whole drumstick plus the thigh which is nearly 500gms plus an egg. I will see how he reacts later on.

And between his poop been kind of watery with mucous. Its been day 3 feeding on raw no kibbles at all. The diarrhea starts ytd afternoon. Is this okay and normal?

And i dont think we need to worry about BARF or PMD POV thingy. All of this the goal is to have our furkids living healthier and happier without feeding them poison.

Green tripe is the unbleached, uncooked stomach. Usually a cow's stomach ( also knowns as cow's tripe), goat tripe and venison tripe are seasonal though.

smile.gif thanks for the clarification. Cow tripe thats what i heard before. I thought green tripe is another organ. Im yet to feed my dog another kind of meat other than chicken because its only day 10 after he convert raw. I try to introduce beef slowly maybe starting next week. I might try tripe after he accept beef. smile.gif thanks for ur info.

hi there!
welcome to raw feeding!  rclxms.gif
great to have many people start thinking bout their furkid's nutrition rather than just plonkin in some smelly commercial dog food for them unless you can afford those super super premium ones....  sweat.gif

anyways, which model are you following?
i'm following the prey model.
well if you are too, how long has it been since you have started to intro this diet to ur little husky?
actually this thread has been actively discussed in the beginning so those who just started just need to read up those pages from start till end  icon_rolleyes.gif

Same prey model here. I just give quarter cut chicken piece on his plate and he will do the rest, tearing, chew, crush bone, etc. This is the 10th day. But he still wont take organs. Maybe the smell diff bah.
