I haven't really had time to play that much since I got it. I tried it once, and I realized that the moves are actually really difficult to pull off on controller, especially the charging moves.

Ya of course I'm using the d-pad. I simply can't imagine playing fighting games with the analog stick. My problem is not just pressing a direction that doesn't need to be pressed (e.g. qcf ending in a up + forward direction 'cause I overshot), but also 'cause of the timing between the movement and the button press. Seems a lot stricter than fighting games nowadays (e.g. MK vs. DC).

I'm playing Normal mode and I just... can't... defeat... T-Hawk!!!!!
His freaking jump attacks cover half the screen and take off such a huge chunk of damage... And his throws....!!! Stupid Shoryukens don't have enough horizontal coverage to hit him when he lets loose a flying kick. The round is usually over in just about 5 or 6 hits. |

Yeah I suppose I'm also not concentrating hard enough. It just seems that his attacks seem to come out so fast, there's hardly any animation before the hit boxes start kicking in. And I'm not used to playing defensively. I was always an offense kinda guy (in KOF, anyway). I can't hadoken hadoken shoryuken all day long. Closest I came to winning was using Blanka to jump fierce kick him constantly. Worked, until I got too close and he freakin' threw me.

QUOTE(mikeeeee @ Dec 10 2008, 02:45 PM) yeap !! u got that right ! don't go too near these "thrower" characters like t.hawk and zangief when u not in an attacking combo .. else .. u get thrown I was using mainly Ryu... Even tried Ken and E-Honda and Guile and Blanka and Bison. Can't select Akuma 'cause I haven't beaten the game yet. Only time I tried to play the Arcade mode I couldn't get past T-Hork.by the way, u using ryu, ken or akuma ?? Added on December 10, 2008, 2:56 pmoh, forgot this character ... e.Honda , he is one great "thrower" character as well ... especially ochio throw ... |

QUOTE(lksing78 @ Dec 10 2008, 05:44 PM) me use mr.zangief...muahahaha Zangief reminds me of Daimon from KOF. Just size and power, no speed. I'll try him. slow but defend and offend are good... defeat m.bison (VEGA in jap ver.) quite challenging though. Added on December 10, 2008, 5:45 pm just press up on e-honda selection Thanks for the tip... Didn't know how to select Akuma, haha. |
