you should ask the seller whether it has other addons on it
RM 1080 should be cheap with those addons...
modded ones are usually more expensive (from what i know)

Well, idk, it seem to vary by shop. In my case, I found that modded ones are cheaper when I researched in USJ Summit and Subang Parade in October. Also, for some reason Japanese version is usually cheaper than US version. RM1080 should probably be modded Japanese ver. If not modded, think carefully before you buy. Since most ori games sold in Malaysia is US version.

Me? I ended up paying RM1400 for my unmodded US Wii sweat.gif

For region locked consoles, retailers avoid bringing in games from different languages and regions(PAL/NTSC). Original that is...

And yeah, modded JP consoles are actually cheaper. Almost as cheap as the suggested retail price(SRP) in the US launch (250USD x 3.5 = RM875)

When your Wii is modded;

you can
1- play original disc and <fill in blanks>
2- play all region game w/o freeloader

but

1- you have high risk chance to brick your Wii
2- Cannot update firmware
3- Cannot go to WiiShop channel
4- One wrong step at Wii setting will brick your Wii

When your Wii is unmodded

1- can play original disc only
2- region locked, need to select the game matched ur Wii region
3- other region's game need to use freeloader, but iianm, freeloader killed in Firmware 3.3U
4- Can go online/update Firmware without worrying bricking your Wii
5- Can go to Wii Shop channel w/o any problem

p/s: both modded and unmodded can use Homebrew smile.gif

*hope none of my content violate rules*

You forgot:
5- Cannot play multiplayer games online (i.e. Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Animal Crossing City Folk, etc).

about rm180 average.

to people who think is soooo freaking expensive, let me share my expeirience on buidling your game collection:
1. it is a myth that u need to own every freaking game in the whole wii game catalog to be a happy gamer. i know people who are just addicted to quantity. they have like 300 games in their collection, yet still not happy.
2. gamers play the games they purchase to DEATH before they move on to other games. therefore u don't need to play every game in the catalog at least once to be a happy gamer. playing video games is not like watching dvd. even after 1 year after you purchase it, u will go back and play it, over and over again, even after you have played it to death.
3. buy one game a month, in 12 months you have 12 games. and 12 games in your collection is freaking many! I don't even have 12 games yet, yet i am a happy gamer.
4. gamers do their soul searching in youtube, game reviews, forums (like this) and the likes before they make up their mind to buy a game. they don't 'test' the game first and then decide to buy, (or not to buy for some)
5. some say malaysia is 2nd world already, so leave piracy for the poorer countries la. piracy is also more difficult unlike the old ps2 days. so mafaan nowadays. not worth it anymore la......
