the 1k psp feels solid n the umd drive slot is built tougher. also, the contour gives a better grip. so if ur kid is active n drop it (not too high/often though ) it won't break easily.
both are fine for me actually, I mean, im a basic user, n I can't really pinpoint which is better.

yes its possible. as far as i know, u can update the phat to 5.0 M33.
just to double check, test it for yourself, look at the firmware version.,

when i was in college, we learned about this circuit that cuts off the power to an electronic appliance (mainly constructed in charges and adapters) when they are fully charged. it detects the battery charge level (or something..) and when its full, it stops supplying to the appliance and instead runs the complete circuit straight back to the socket.
if the same circuit was applied in the psp charger, so, no worries about overcharging.
what i know and can be sure about is every laptop adapter got this circuit.

n most of the ps3 owners are working, and some of them got expertise in what they do. so they pretty much know a lot about ps3.
plus its freaking expensive and u just cant take the chance not to know about it. we need more playboy21 in this forum.

oh well, then the possibility is that the audio jack is defective.
it should be mute when a jack is plugged in, and sounds when it doesnt plugged in.

so there are a few possibilities. one of which is the speakers themselves are defective. but cant be both of them defective at the same time.
probably means something's wrong in the circuitry.

your speaker fuse must have burnt then. no worries, if that is the case then the fuse can just be shorted out.
other than that, i dont think i know. maybe the motherboard's messed up.
im not sure about phat PSPs since i've never opened one. try PMing the guys at modding section. see whether there are people who had opened a phat before.

well, im assuming you know that the psp can only play MP4 at stock.
well, other than that, i guess it can only play MP4. for .flv files (which are videos you download from the net from video streaming sites like youtube, metacafe etc. etc. ) you need a homebrew program which is the PSPTube.

well, those are the noticeable differences+i dont really remember which ones were not present before upgrading your firmware version.

also, you get new cool visualizations for your music player. other than those, i dont think i know or notice any differences.

well actually u guys can softmod them yourselves just that its risky and u guys might brick the psp.
for more info try pm playboy21 or wetfusion for the steps. playboy even saved the steps in a .txt format so he can copy n paste the solutions here. too many people asking the same things.
the price depends on the game shop also. some charge so expensive, but there's this shop at downtown that does it for +-RM30.
and it depends on the mobo too. currently u cant softmod the ta-088 v3 motherboard.
just buy an already modded psp from game shops, no need to mod it later.
