thanks bro for the good explanation and suggestion  rclxms.gif . will get psp3k sooner and will come back for some tutorial on how to mod since i'm really noob with modding.  biggrin.gif

I just got PSP3k last Thurs. Very easy to mod ler. No sweat.

Just make sure the PSP you buy MUST have firmware 5.30 or lower. If it is 5.50 means CANNOT mod.

How did you make it easy?

I had trouble loading ChickHEN, took me 50++ tries this morning.
*
The trick

1) add more pictures in the chicken folder. i have around 10 of the egg photo.
2) when you are at the chicken folder, while the pictures are loading, just scroll all the way down and all the way up none stop, it will then restart

normally step 2) takes around 1 to 3 max attempt for me.

I was googling about how to charge battery and I found this interesting explanation

QUOTE
Source

Hi,

I work as a service tech at an Apple centre and get the battery question quite a lot. Powerbooks, iBooks and iPods all use Li-Ion, as does the PSP and this is the advice that I give to my clients:

Li-Ion batteries don't have a memory effect and it doesn't matter when you recharge them, but they will slowly lose the ability to hold a charge. Typically, with things like the iPod and PSP, about 400 recharge cycles is the expected lifespan of the battery. What's a recharge cycle? One full charge from empty to full. But how does it work if I don't flatten my battery? If you use your battery to 50% and then charge it that's 1/2 a cycle. next time you may use 20% then charge.. so, when you have used 100% (over one or several charges) that would be one cycle.

You may hear that to fully dischage a Li-Ion battery is bad. Sure, it can be but there are some exceptions to the rule. Most Li-Ion batteries will 'go flat' while some residual chage is still left in the cells. There is battery monitoring electronics built into the battery to do this, so it's ok - as long as you charge the battery up asap. If you fail to charge a fully drained battery up, there is a risk that the residual charge will be lost - dropping the battery into a 'deep sleep' that can be virtually impossible to revive. So, why would you want to run the risk of a dead battery then? Have you noticed that Laptops, iPods and PSP's all have a thing to tell you how much time is left in the battery? Have you ever noticed that sometimes it will say that it's at 0% but the device keeps working, or it might be at 100% and keeps charging? That's because the battery requires a re-calibration of the monitoring circut. To do this, you need to run your battery to 'flat' and then give it a full, continuous charge.

I try and do my iPod once a month or so, but as I am inherantly lazy and don't remember to charge it always, I find that every other week it goes flat. My powerbook is a little different, I have to 'remember' to not charge it. So I find a time when I can do some work at night in front of the telly and work off the battery until it dies - then I stick it on to charge and leave it overnight. Again, once a month is a good thing to keep the battery calibrated. But be prepared to put it on charge as soon as possible.

So, what kills a battery if I keep it charged up and look after it?

The biggest killer of batteries beyond simple use and neglect (of charge) is heat.

Who uses a laptop? Have you noticed how hot your laptop gets? It's slowly cooking your battery. Simple as that. The cooler your battery, the longer it will last.

Do you have a spare battery that you don't use? Give it a 50% charge and leave it somewhere cool - even your fridge is ok as long as there is no risk that it will feeze (as this, too, will kill your battery) and no risk that it will get wet (stick it in a zip-lock bag and make sure that it returns to room temprature before you use it)

How long will a Li-Ion battery last? A couple of years at best - even if you don't use 'em. So if you have a spare battery that you are going to save for when your current one dies, use it now. Alternate it with the battery you have as the clock starts ticking on the battery life from the moment it leaves the factory.

Hope this helps.

Plod.

Yes. PSP3k has CFW, but it is not permanent. You have to redo the mod steps everytime after a shutdown.

So if you don't want to repeat the mod steps, just put your PSP into standby.

auhckw,

where do you brought on this e-capture cable & av cable?? quick cheap man?
*
e-capture is from Imbi 2nd Floor. RM110

AV cable (3 pin) is from Times Square (one of the game shop in the IT mall) - Games will only work on PSP3k. PSP2k will not work (based on internet review). RM25

Component AV cable (5 pin) is from IOI Mall (ps zone) - Bought this by mistake, my old TV only has 3 holes. RM30

auhckw, is the picture better on the tv compared to the laptop? (due to the quality of the capture card)

and,

wasn't there a special connector cable for psp3000 series? (Isn't yours a psp3000 too?) I read somewhere that the wire support for psp3000 and psp2000 are different (as in they use different wires), but I stand corrected if i'm wrong on this.
*
TV and Laptop = Same. Not much different. I don't have a HDTV, only old TV.

On the box, it says only for PSP2000 and won't work for PSP 1000.
Note: For PSP 2000, 3 pin can show the PSP Main menu on the TV but not Games menu (read this from Amazon review). Bit PSP 3000 can work for both.

I have not try the component av cable yet, cause no HDTV sad.gif

ah, I stand corrected then.

Here in my place in Sabah, they're selling the wires for a friggin' RM50. Was about to buy one too..

Even a 8GB MS are sold at RM120 per piece. (can't even identify if it's original or not)

Huhuhu
*
Accessories the shops simply mark up punya.

The price tag on the AV cable (3 pin) is RM129, when asked for discount, they said RM50. I said no, I bought the Component AV (5 pin) cable at RM25, how can this be so much expensive. So they ended up sell me at RM30.

Hi Auhck...

Thanks for your prompt.... Yea, I mean PSP Go shakehead.gif ... hehehehe sorry for that mistaken.
Allrite, I will go for PSP 2000 then...

Thanks for the information.....

Anyway, Is it okay for me to buy PSP for now ? or should I wait for PSP Go come out and see how its works ?
*
Just reminder, new PSP 2000 also cannot install homebrew ya. The problem is same as new PSP 3000, so if you go for PSP2000, go for old units.

Well, if you can wait for PSP Go due to release October, then wait and see. But you have to know that there may be few more months of waiting before ppl out there can find ways to hack it.

Price for PSP Go is higher, slightly smaller screen, higher processor but cap to the same speed as PSP 3000 when they initial release it.

Personally I would prefer PSP3000 look and feel than PSP Go. I don't like the push up thingi on PSP Go.
